Roy's Snowdon + Hell Up North pictures!!
We now have Roy's victory pictures from his Snowdon climb last month! The weather was fairly dismal but everyone kept in good spirits during the 3,560 ft climb, even Bryn the dog managed to keep his tail wagging! It was a fabulous day with wonderful people, and it brought home how challenging Kilimanjaro will be this month!
Roy had to compose himself somewhat before being ready for pictures but soon found his smile:
Not satisfied with having climbed one of the tallest Mountains in Britain, Roy decided to challenge himself with Hell Up North 2012 in Delamere Forest at the weekend!
The Brooks HellRunner is over multi-terrain, with varying underfoot conditions - mainly mud! There were running tracks and trails, water-filled areas and plenty of steep hills - Roy got incredibly wet and muddy! Starting at 10:00 on Saturday 3rd Nov, The Brooks HellRunner was nature at its toughest and was approximately 12 miles long.
Roy completed Hellrunner in 2 hours, coming 300th out of 3000 - well done, Roy! Craig Connor, Roy's personal trainer, also took part and finished in the top 20!
As expected, Roy is a bit knackered but will be continuing his training for the big Kilimanjaro climb on Monday 12th November.
All this effort is being put towards fundraising for JoiningJack and it will all be for nothing if he can't raise the funds that the charity deserve. To help Roy and support his cause, please visit his JustGiving page to donate!
Thank you.

Hmmm muddy! Good trailing today!!
Run run run run!!!!
Whoo hoo!! Been out of action on the run side of things for two long weeks because of injury! So I've been avoiding what I love since then..........until today! My knee has felt better so I thought, sod it! A nice off the beaten track run for 45 mins, the vibrams were kind and my knee (with knee support, I'm not stupid!) gave me no pain!! Thank god! Even better my race number came today for hellrunner!!! Only a couple of weeks now!!!
Make good of a bad situation!
So with the inability to run at the moment due to my knee being a bit on the iffy side, I've taken to walking and swimming with the occasional gym workout! Not quite as fun, but keeps me fit! I've got a half marathon next month which includes a great many hills and rivers to plow though.......not to mention the bog of doom! Hellrunner here we come!!
