walking into gyu’s dressing room after a breakup, he hasn’t seen you in weeks
you thank the staff for letting you in because you left something but you don’t say anything to beomgyu, practically ignoring him.
“y/n can we t-“
you smile to the staff before leaving after you pick up what you came here for, “again thanks so much, have a good day.”
“Look at me–you’re safe.”

As far as fighting tournaments go, Smash is usually relatively safe. At least, in that Master Hand makes sure that nothing can kill you. A strike from a sword could be fatal anywhere else, but here, you’ll be knocked back with no lacerations, brought back to a safe platform if you happen to take a tumble offstage. Down and back up again, no problem.
But still, accidents can happen. And on a particularly sleepless night for Lucas, unfortunately, one did happen.
It wasn’t a particularly good week for Lucas in the ring. It happens to even the veterans who’ve been here the longest — but day after day with little luck gets into your head, eventually. A pretty dangerous thing when your power comes from your head.
Maybe it was a lack of mental clarity. Maybe he just needed to sleep instead of staying up late in the training rooms. Maybe it was a combination of things. Whatever the case, this has to be one of the worst circumstances to take a tumble — alone, in the late hours of the night, when most of the others are asleep and the only set of eyes on you belongs to a passive, unmoving Sandbag.
Lucas can’t tell you how long he was in the training room, practicing moving about the stage. And he can’t tell you how long he was on the floor, realizing that the slightest movement of his left leg caused a sudden pain to flare up in his ankle. There was the initial panic. Then he tried to steady himself, clearing his head enough to try and manage a Lifeup — it only helped so much. Even trying to raise his leg telepathically triggered the pain. That’s when the panic began to set in again: there’s no one else nearby to call for.
Well, there wasn’t, until the door swings open and suddenly, Byleth is standing in the door frame. The mounting panic in Lucas’s mind comes to a head at the sight of another fighter’s face.
