Got a question about behind the scene stuff.

One thing that caught my attention on the axetale archive site is the please read notice. Specifically, the mention of rumors being spread about axetale and it's creators during the intervening years from og creator's retirement to present.

If I may ask, what did those rumors entail? I'm curious because generally the worst I've seen people talk negatively about Axetale online during that time and before was just the standard "Au bad because frans".

Hope question doesn't bring discomfort, this is genuinely a curiosity I have.

So to state, Axetale is not only a very detailed AU, but I believe I can claim it is one of the most darkest AUs in the entire Undertale AU community. More horrific than HELP_tale, way darker than Horrortale itself. Like in the AU, you got some shit like the Nice cream guy on quote “mutilated and impaled on his own ice cream cart by Gyftrot and used as bait for lesser monsters of deep wood , his flesh being consumed as Gyftrot hunts his consumers. At the end of every day, Gyftrot comes down from the trees and rips out his intestines and force feeds it to him, regenerating his body to repeat the same thing every day.” And this is just one of multiple.

B and the others did not hold back. However antis began to just call Axetale “Misery porn” if they weren’t calling it a Frans AU, focusing solely on only its dark elements. Like I’d rather people have that perspective being something new than Frans, but they are morons for glossing over everything else.

The real bad rumors came after they quit, mabye 2023-2024 ish. So there was this one other dark fanfic called dalliance that B wrote. Had no association with the AU at all. However over time people started confusing that dalliance was related or a part of the plot of Axetale for some reason, and started believing that Sans r*aped his wife (really makes no sense at all, considering their relationship is that of soulmates in the AU). Somehow another terrible rumor came that might be worse, people started saying that it was Aliza. Both are completely untrue, and rumors are most likely influenced by some external source. Than some anti comes along and is so appalled by the concept of a Frans AU being so beautiful and well put together that they spew their bullshit. These

In a way, I can say that the two year paralysis of the AU saved it in the long run. People attacked it, but it was nothing like what the antis of flowerfell did to the AU (they are completely disunited and anti Frans shippers are slowly taking things over claiming it was never a Frans ship, or was forced to be made one).

We as a team, and a community, wanted a defense to potential rumors that could spring up so when we are a more mentionable AU, there will never be a witch-hunt anymore bigger than us being a Frans AU (and I swear mainstream Undertale has a shit ton of double standards and one dimensional perspectives on AUs like this one). But anyways anonymous viewer, I wouldn’t worry about these rumors. If some chump does decide on pushing a narrative, it will be crushed.

HELP_tale has always been my favourite AU, I love how depressing and fucked up it is, so I decided this old picture was worthy of a tune-up. I also decided to go mental with the effects, so I icluded versions where I didn't do that too.

the second completed request! and it is:

help_tale! these sprites were unsurprisingly hard to make. i had to make sanstrocity's sprite practically from scratch. but somehow it only took a day compared to papalgamate's 2 days. maybe i just got into a rhythm. while making sanstrocity i had a phase where i started hating his design LOL. i've warmed back up to his design though. i've always loved the concept of help_tale, so i'm happy to have been given the opportunity to make sprites for them!
