The Amazon Forest produces more than 20 percentage the world’s oxygen and is home to more than half of the world’s species of plants, animals and insects.

It has been burning for 3 weeks and we have just found out about it!

“The spirits of the Amazônia, in the aftermath of destruction”

I sat down this afternoon with a very vague and raw art concept, I wanted an impactful way of showing my feelings. Not only because of the fires in our loved rainforest, but because of the situation my country is in and the direction it’s currently headed to...

I can only image what the spirits are thinking of us; what they think of the poor animals and trees violently murdered. All in name of our “Ordem e Progresso”.

The seemingly government supported deforestation puts the cultures, traditions and worldviews of the millions of Indigenous people of the Amazon at risk, along with the wildlife & ecosystems of some of the most biodiverse areas of the planet, and undermining the critical role of the rainforest in regulating the global climate, and mitigating the worst effects of climate chaos.
