Nicky Gets a Camera

It started a while ago - a week before Nicky’s birthday to be exact. A box arrived in the mail from Germany, and Nicky squealed at the top of his lungs when he saw it was from Erik. He ran past Neil and Andrew to the couch and ripped the box open. Inside sat a way-too expensive Canon camera along with a note from Erik that wished him a happy birthday and requested photos and videos he took with it.

Suddenly Nicky was trying to film everything, practice, Eden’s, car rides… He and Allison took hundreds of selfies, there were videos of Andrew yelling at him to turn it off and shoving his hand over the lens, Pictures of a reluctant Aaron, videos of Neil being clueless. As time went on there were pictures of Allison and Renee holding hands, Matt giving Dan a piggyback ride and a video of Aaron talking animatedly with Katelyn. Pictures of Kevin pointing and screaming at Neil during practice, and videos of Neil’s mouthing off.

When SD cards got full Nicky would save copies to hard drives and seal them in envelops mailing them off to Erik the following mornings.

After a while Nicky started getting hard drives in the mail too. Pictures of Erik and his family during the holidays, at work, when he got a big dog named Rufus, videos of him were included too.

Nicky would show them off to any of the Foxes that would listen. Renee often got stuck listening to Nicky ramble for hours at a time with a smile on her face.

Nicky: hey it’s me, can you talk?

Andrew: since I was two

Nicky: no, I mean can you talk now?

Andrew: do you hear words coming out of my mouth?

Inktober Day #5

I got sick and have literally 0 ideas in my head, so I went for the simplest and plainest drawing like always.

Today it’s my fave All for the Game character, Nicky Hemmick! The boy needs more love from the fandom, seriously.
