“He probably hadn’t meant for anyone to find it, but he had left it exposed in the middle of the table, practically begging to be found. There’s standard fare, captain’s logs, temperature and visibility and any number of nautical details that she couldn’t make heads or tails of. But there were also sketches, some spanning the length of two pages, others sequestered away in the corners of a single page; small and insignificant. Some completed, others not. Half of a face, a clenched fist. The shape of a whale or shark fin, breaching a tempestuous wave.
Who would have thought? Captain Hook is a tortured artist.”

Merry Christmas, Alana! I’m your Hub Secret Santa! It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know you over the past year, being pod buddies, and overall just being your good pal. ♥ I’m thankful for a friend like you! Here’s to another year of finding plot holes and sobbing about fictional characters.
Ro’s Friendship Appreciation Moodboards (10/?): @starlessness / @hencethebravery
Alana is a goddamn queen. That’s not an opinion, that’s a straight up fact. She’s a tad stressed right now because of her upcoming wedding, she’s going to be absolutely fine and it’s going to be a gorgeous ceremony. Despite this, she still occasionally checks up on me and makes sure I’m not stressed out like the amazing friend she is. Alana is tough and driven and her ability to multitask and just crush everything in her path is astounding to me. I sometimes crack up when we chat because she’s just as salty, no-nonsense and blunt as me and sometimes I wonder if we share a brain. We have had a lot of interesting chats about life, tea and all things fandom, especially in regard to our bitterness towards OUAT and our love for Kastle. She is an amazing writer and I honestly love her work. On top of her fic writing, she runs an amazing OUAT podcast called Pod Ever After with @the-reason-to-sail-home, which you should definitely be listening to.
Alana, you’re a fierce ass bitch and I love you.

How long have you been writing for the OUAT fandom? Did you write anything else (original or fan fiction) before joining the OUAT fandom?
Probably about 2 years? I've written fan fiction and original fiction before joining.
What sort of fic do you like to write? What sort of fic do you like to read?
I like to write fanfiction that can give insights into character that canon either can't or won't do. I've written plenty of canon-divergent fic, but I do enjoy AUs. I like to read in-character fic that honors the characters, I generally don't discriminate between canon-divergence or AUs.
Besides your Little Bang fic, do you have anything else in the works?
I'm working on an original novel for NaNoWriMo, also about witches. I'm predictable.
If this is your first time participating in a Big or Little Bang, what made you decide to sign up? What are you looking forward to?
I've never signed up for one and I wanted to try it! I'm looking forward to completing a large project and being part of a community event. I've also never had any art made for my writing before, which is exciting.
Featured Fic: The Spooky Truth with Dr. Jones
Not only was this a multi-chapter I managed to finish, it was also incredibly experimental linguistically, and I was pleased with how it came out. I had also included world-building elements with Photoshop (Instagram posts and tweets).

Captain Charming 1950s AU for the Queen of CC @hencethebravery on the occasion of her birth! Happy Birthday my darling Alana, I kept it pure for you!
(Part two is going to be… less pure ;) )
1.6k. Rated hard T / mild M for insinuation.
Captain Charming Enchanted Forest AU
When the pirate captain kneels before them, head bent toward the ground, David strains to see the man’s face. Clenching his jaw, the seaman lets untrusting eyes fall upon David. The prince gasps. He knows this dreaded pirate that’s sentenced to death for his crimes.
He knows him from his earliest memories as a boy, when the pirate’s name wasn’t Captain Hook, but Killian Jones. David remembers days where Killian was just a loyal kitchen lad, who hid away to play with him when the work was done.
It’s more too. This pirate holds the face of the man who stole David’s first kiss, the man who taught him the art of physical affection in the quiet, dark shadows of the garden. Under a moon curved like this pirate’s hook, David had learned the gift of intimacy and the courage to say “I love you.”
David’s father, the king, is about to bellow the man’s death sentence, one fitting and proper for the crimes committed. And that’s when the prince is overwhelmed by feelings thought to be lost long ago, and makes a small, honest plea.
“Please give him pardon, father.” Killian’s head shoots up to stare in shock at his first lover. “There’s still light in him.”
Happy birthday to @hencethebravery!

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?
Uh, about two years I think? I never really made the photosets before OUAT, but I did some edits for other fandoms, including Doctor Who and Sons of Anarchy.
What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?
I'm all about that AESTHETIC. The aesthetic is life. I often try to keep it minimal but moody.
Whose your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?
Aw, geez. I dunno, I think I like the both of them equally. They are both beautiful bubs and I will make anything for them as required.
If this is your first time participating in a Big or Little Bang, what made you decide to sign up? What are you looking forward to?
I am also a first-time author, so I have answered this once before, but the basic reason is that I hadn't done it before! As an artist, I'm looking forward to reading someone's work and hopefully making some accompanying art that they enjoy and makes them feel good about their story.
Featured Artwork: Emma Swan Appreciation Image Set
I made a big-ass image set for Emma Swan during an appreciation week, because she's the best and I love her. It didn't get much attention but I'm still proud of it.
