disclaimer: im gonna try really hard to not make this sambuckysteve bc i am a hoe for sambuckysteve

headcanon: okay so bucky is the most skeptical of the two. because lets be real sam just spent 2 years searching the world for this guy obviously he’s got some merrit, and yet again this is the same(ish) guy that has tried to kill him... twice not once steve TWICE

and so when they meet for the first time, steve is like ‘buck this is my current best friend sam, sam this is my bff bucky barnes’. and sam just like skepitcally nods his head before saying ‘yeah we’ve meet almost killed me twice, not so nice to see you agian’ and bucky immediately laughs. which catches everyone the fuck off guard cause why the hell is barnes laughing. 

and he like grabs steve’s shoulder and says ‘stevie i can see why you like this guy, kinda a pain in the ass and doesn’t hide it. glad someone has been here to keep you in check all the years’ and still no one entirely understands what just happened but bucky leaves sam and steve. and sam is like ‘so does that means he isn’t gonna try to kill me again or’. and steve just shrugs and follows after bucky. 

so bucky always sneaks up on sam “accidentally” and sam is literally always so on edge when bucky is around cause he is so quiet and sneaky and unpredictable. and one day sam is telling exactly that to steve and bucky comes around the corner and remarks ‘aw com’on i thought you liked that about me bird boy’ and gives him a quick kiss on the lips before smacking steve’s ass and continuing on his way to the kitchen. and sam is just fucking dumbfounded and all steve offers AGAIN is a shrug and follows bucky 

so like a week goes by of bucky teasing sam in this way, getting all up in his personal space and scaring the shit out of him with his scary assassin training until finally sam has the upper hand one day and scares the shit out of barnes effectively pinning him to the ground. and they basically have a lion king moment before it is sam fleeing the room for once, but bucky just grabs his hand and crashes their lips together. 

and thEN steve comes around the corner and just says ‘fucking finally’ not all that quiet and sam flicks him off while he continues to kiss bucky
