Spider-chief….
BOSTON, MA (August 30, 2019) -- United States Navy Chief Petty Officer (CPO) selects (approved for an epic promotion to the auspicious paygrade of E-7) participate in a mast-climbing training exercise during Chief Petty Officer Heritage Week aboard the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world, USS Constitution -- named in 1797 by President George Washington after the United States Constitution.
The soon-to-be Chief Petty Officers
During their week spent aboard Constitution, the new senior enlisted leaders learn a variety of time-honored maritime evolutions and traditions, while living and working aboard the iconic -- and oldest in the Fleet -- warship.
A combination of old Navy, “Old Salt,” and Spider-Man.
USS Constitution is escorted out to Fort Independence on Castle Island during ‘Old Ironsides' Chief Petty Officer Heritage Week underway portion.
USS Constitution fires a saluting battery....while numerous soon-to-be CPOs man the rigging. (Like something out of an old movie! Clarke Gable-something.) _________________________
