hi hello hi. i have seen you in my grianhater notifs (respectable) (real as fuck) (i love to say things) AND i have seen your old hc seasons appreciation. as a wels enjoyer currently working through his s4 (i have to take it slow bc he literally makes me crazy) (i have to chew on him its dire) i am smilingggg and asking if you have any s4 thoughts to share. ^w^ !

s4 is very dear to me being the first season I watched live from the start <3 I’m sooo happy to get this ask!! Thank you! 

I actually only fully watched mumbo’s pov .. which was the equivalent of only watching grian nowadays ;-; 

I’ve tried to watch other povs so many times but I get Crazy about it and I’m also scared of ruining the nostalgia love by realising it wasn’t as good as I remember .. Yea the Taking it Slow bit I GETT.

i think season 4 is the best from before season 6 (haven’t watched s2 yet so excluding that). it was the first season that has similar vibe of modern hermitcraft imo. which could just be my bias. it has a lot of the same members as there is now, and it had a long running storyline with the majority of the server participating. the bases styles are similar to how it is now too, with mega bases and people discovering styles they would use for the future seasons  (there was mega bases before! but it was just Different Vibes idk)

in season 4, five kingdomcraft members joined — scar, wels, ren, cub and iskall. it’d suck if so many people joined at once now,, but it was so good at the time. a lot of ppl left after season 3 or were inactive. and it meant all the newcomers had ppl they already knew to interact with. like wels and scar collabed so much at the start, ren and iskall, and ofc scar and cub. kingdomcraft was also more targeted at kids and, apparently had a bit of roleplay so that impacted on hermitcraft . tho i never watched kingdomcraft and I don’t remember where I heard that >m> 

most of the builds were built in an around a huge mesa biome

Back before the voice chat mod was added, it was so rare to have interactions. But there was wayyy more pranks!! Everyone’s bases being so close made it so much easier. It was so fun watching a new mumbo video seeing him prank, idk xisuma’s base, then waiting a couple days for xisuma to upload his new vid to see his reaction. It’s so different to how it is now. The new style of interactions is definitely better but it’s a nice change of pace to look back at old seasons. :D 

I loveeee the mesa idea btw.. it gives the season a unique “theme” . If you’re given a screenshot of a hermitcraft base, if it’s in the mesa u can be pretty confident it’s from s4 . This was a few months after the mesa was added to Minecraft pocket edition , so I had never seen it before. I was 9 years old ok. every time I see a mesa Im flash banged with hc s4. Even just seeing a terracotta block ;-;  it’d be nice if they did summing like that again,,

Season 4 had the biggest storyline so far. I Think 12/21 hermits were involved, including wels!!! It’s Kkinda a war since there was 2 big groups against each other. it went on for a good while too. it started with ren in his episode 9 and when it ended, wels was on episode 83! I’m really fond of this arc.. I think scars pov of its finale is the YouTube video I’ve rewatched the most Ever❤️ I really think this paved the way for the future stories that people like grian spearheaded. <- genuinely makes me sad when people say hermitcraft had no lore before grian joined. Not even angry just sad . grian is great and stuff too 😀😀😀😓 

Now that I think of it. Season 4 was really similar to s6. They both had similar districts and stories. season 6 had a longer server-wide story while season 4 had a couple smaller stories, in smaller groups or duos. Personal preference which type you enjoy more. But both seasons have similar vibes to me,,  what I’m trying to say is If You like s6 WATCH S4 Yyayyy
