she's gremlin with no rights
calling her a gremlin feels as if it would be insulting and unfair gremlins. gremlins come in all shapes and sizes but i usually love them for their gremliny qualities. but all of her gremliny qualities are only the worst ones.

by the end of ep 8 i truly felt sorry for her (and also my soft dlanor/erika feelings are Very Strong) BUT ALSO, IN NO DIMENSION DOES SHE HAVE RIGHTS
i definitely feel bad for how bern treats her because that’s genuinely a big big oof and it explains a lot but honestly ryukishi’s been kind of inconsistent about whether to write her as genuinely sympathetic or as just a walking joke and a cartoony villain. i feel like ep6 ending on a ‘actually i’m just a villain and will go down like one’ is especially at fault and then he just kind of doubles down on her being a meme in ep8 cause that side of her sorta took over.
dlanor/erika really is quality yuris tho.

She’s The Worst, but that’s also why she’s the best.
i love that i got not less than three replies all with some very strong opinions
but mine is that while ‘the worst and that’s why they’re the best’ is a great character archetype, her writing is too inconsistent and noncommittal to really work it. like ryukishi sort of ended up making her a poor man’s bern which is............. symbolically fitting, almost poetically, actually
