Little rant about the art and characters below

I’ve been working on fleshing out my hero characters a little more, and this was an exercise for Kieran :)

I think he’d have a lot of anxiety problems, he’s a major overthinker, and he has a bad habit of shutting down when his emotions run high. So I wondered how he’d choose to cope with that, and I’d learned about ESSA’s recently and I thought that was perfect for him.

Took me a while to figure out what kind of plush he’d have, I wanted something fitting to his character but also something he’d actually like. I thought about dogs and foxes, something more “typical”, but they didn’t really spark for me. Then I found these deer plushies while looking for ideas and thought it was perfect. He’s a country kid so it felt fitting in that way, and the cute fawn contrasts with the way he presents himself while also fitting his personality- nervous and shy, but he’s a big sweetheart deep down. He named the little stuffed fawn Lily, and he’s had her for a very long time.

Unfortunately he definitely would’ve gotten bullied in his home town for carrying her around :(

So he hides Lily in his bag where people can’t see her, and reaches into his bag to pet and fidget with her when he’s anxious. Overtime as he gets more support from the other heroes- Jayden and Hannah- and his boyfriend, he’d eventually feel more comfortable having her out.

And I think like, when he turns into his big monster form and gets all stressed out and loses himself, they can use Lily to ground him and bring him back to reality.

Overall just kinda thought it’d be a cute addition to his character and hopefully if I ever do anything with these guys it’ll serve as a nice little bit of representation, because I think ESSA’s are cool (I honestly wish I had the guts to carry a little friend around with me) and the shit people get over having them is just ridiculous :/

Hehe I've been wanting to draw these guys for awhile now- for real! They're amazing! If Oswald is still around, he would definitely compliment them non-stop- hehe
