Buck follows the soft melody floating down the hallway and comes to a stop in the kitchen doorway. He smiles to himself as he glances around the room, taking in every element that is painting such a perfect picture.

Mid-morning sunlight casts the room in a soft glow. A cool breeze is pulled in through the open window. A song he faintly recognises lilts from the speaker on the counter; and at the center of it all, is Eddie, standing by the stove, golden hues softening his every edge. 

It’s a wonder to him, still, even months down the line, that this is an image he gets to wake to. That no matter the time, no matter how many hours he spends dead to the world, or dreaming of things he wants to forget, Eddie will be here waiting. Welcoming him with a cup of tea and a kind smile that shines so bright it chases away all the darkness that may have clouded his mind in sleep. 

It’s an image he keeps close to his chest. Saved in his heart and memories for those rainy days when he needs a reminder of just how much light exists in the world.

He takes a step closer into the room then. Eddie turns to face him, and there’s that smile. Outshining every ray filtering in through the window. It’s as familiar as the sun at the beginning of each day, and Buck can’t help but echo the expression.

The beat of the music -one of those cheesy love songs from the 50s that Eddie seems to love so much- picks up, and Eddie simply offers out a hand. A silent invitation. Buck laughs as he takes it and is pulled to the center of the room, swaying in time to the trumpets blaring from the speaker. 

His hand lands on Eddie’s shoulder as Eddie’s lands on his waist, and Buck marvels at how perfectly their bodies fit together. Like these are the arms he was destined to fall into, and this is where he’s meant to stay. To be kept and welcomed, just like he is in every other part of this home. 

Eddie hums to the tune as they move around the kitchen, and Buck just laughs and laughs and laughs, unable to keep every ounce of the joy he’s feeling from spilling out of his mouth. And when Eddie does the same in return, the sound blends right in with the music. 

Eddie lifts an arm and twirls him around, and as he falls back into place, Buck moves the arm from Eddie’s shoulder and cups his cheek, pulling him in for a kiss; still grinning, breathing soft laughter across his lips. Eddie’s smile feels just as welcoming as it looks, and Buck lets himself melt into it with a certainty he’s never felt with anyone before, because he knows that this is the person he’ll get to wake up to at the start of every day.

He can’t wait for tomorrow morning.

yes because two of the homies and my own mother are in love with BTS and Astro. My mom watches SO many Kdramas and then she got into kpop 😌🥴 then when I go to the Riverdale frat, the girls make me watch BTS videos!!! Also we tried to learn the dance to Boy with Luv cause we thought we could dance better than Halsey, big mistake!!!

given what we know in season 4, the lawsuit was actually in character for buck (this is for the unpopular opinions)

esther ily omg you are so right!! i’ve talked about this a lot (and made posts about it but im not gonna go look for them lol) but i actually think the lawsuit arc was very in character for everyone involved, it just emphasized their flaws more than anything. the info we get in s4 makes buck’s lawsuit motivations more obviously clear, but honestly even before we got any of that you could understand where each character was coming from and why they were making those decisions even if you didn’t agree with them. it’s one of the reasons i liked those episodes so much even the first time i watched them!
