#omen speaks #khnum ra #heru wer #there might be some poetry here later but i'm still writing/editing and wanted to at least post what i was up to today #went on a walk for them today and then came home to make/share lunch #iced barley tea for heru wer at his request #and cold peanut sauce yakisoba (with extra veggies per khnum ra lol)#i haven't been going out as much as last year and i was worried i had missed the water lily bloom but yay!#if this khnum ra appearing keeps up i am considering making a solar disk for my statue #i will have to do some materials research to make sure i do it right and will need to do some testing with colors #but i think it would be a nice activity he would enjoy =)#ALSO i need a low-key statue for heru wer #i have gone without for going on three years and it's not a demand he's made of me but i feel silly not having an icon for him #mostly when i'm giving offerings to multiple gods and i don't have anything to represent him ;n;#(which also also reminds me that i'm still looking for something for sobek though he's been kinda quiet this summer...)

Celebrated The Appearance of Heru-Wer, Heru-Wer's Standard, and Min at Coptos today. Broke out Heru-Wer's bottle of whiskey for the occassion. Was going to make this chickpea dish to have with some leftover pita, but Min requested the lettuce and an addition of cucumbers. I have enough I'll be eating it into the weekend in His honor. X)

EPAGOMENAL DAYS, DAY 2: BIRTHDAY OF HERU-WER

Dua Heru-Wer (Horus the Elder), Second Son, on this, the second Epagomenal Day! Today, I celebrate you with an offering of bourbon bacon brownies!

If others would like to try the recipe themselves, you can find it right here! It's decidedly more complex than yesterday's shortbread, but it's worth the effort! The topping is goopy, so I am keeping these in the freezer personally. Very rich, very tasty... these are going to last a long while!

I also upped the richness by topping them with whiskey candied pecans, roughly following this recipe here! (roughly as in, I only did one cup of pecans and adjusted by guesstimating, but they came out well!)
