Crosspost from my website. About an experience I had today

Firstly, I know what they say about signs. I know what they say about discernment. I know what pareidolia is. I do ask the reader that you let me have this without bringing up any of those things. Please.

I asked for a sign from my Fathers that I haven't been abandoned yesterday. There's a nearly persistent fear I have that I am going to be abandoned at any moment. This isn't just abandoned by the mortals I love. It extends to the Netjeru as well. Today, I feel like I got it. I saw a hawk. Pretty common animal. I heard it screeching earlier today, too.

This turned my attention to the sky. I noticed something in the clouds. I saw a cloud in the shape of a bird of prey with legs out stretched. I saw another cloud that looked like a giant speckled wing stretched. It looked as if it belonged to a saker falcon in flight judging by the speckled feathered appearance of it. And below that? The unmistakable shape of Set's head. I could see the details of an eye and he seemed to be looking at me.

My Fathers are both sky Netjeru. This is a particularly fitting way for them to reach out and remind me. I saw that hawk and then those clouds in the sky and I felt loved. I felt reassured that they have no intent on abandoning me and they will continue looking out for me and helping me as best as possible if I call. I feel that this has in a way strengthened a relationship I believed was fading. For that reason, I will take it as the sign I asked for.

Heru-wer's Day

Happy Birthday, Heru-wer, Son of Nut, Lord of the Skies.

I offered a Dr Pepper, spicy pretzels, and a mini cupcake. I also managed senut, although a quiet one (if you discount my candle going so low and spilling wax everywhere).

Unlike senut, the rest of the day was... not great. But weirdly enough, I did a lot of housework today. I feel accomplished.

I didn't feel His presence today, though, but I've had a feeling He's been a bit distant with my lately. That's okay, He'll be back when He's back.

Tomorrow will be a rest day, though I still plan to do senut and offer to Set.

Planetary Hymns for Kemetic Deities

This is my own system, based on historic associations, more traditional planetary magic associations, as well as my own instincts. I wrote them to be used daily before my meditation session in the morning to add to the Graeco-Roman ones I have from more traditional planetary magic sources. Which are nice! But I wanted Kemetic ones too.

Moon: Iah, the Lunar Disk O Sole One who rises as Iah, O Sole One who shines as Iah, silver disk of the moon, rising high, sinking low, traversing the sky with Khonsu, Iah-Djehuty, lord of the evening sky, lord of time, lord of the night barque, watch over me today, lend Your borrowed light, may I have your protection, now and forever, today and all days.

Mars: Heru-Wer Hail, Heru-Wer, He with the speckled plumage, whose eyes are the sun and moon, Hail to the winged disk, Hail to you, victorious one, Bone Breaker, Sky Shaker, Lend me Your strength, that I may be victorious, now and forever, today and all days.

Venus: Sobek-Ra-Wesir, Lord of the Lakelands of Shedet Hail to you, Sobek, Who rises from the Lake like Ra, Midnight Sun, morning star, Heru, Son of Wesir, Protector and Avenger, Lord of Love and Peace, Shine down on me today, as Ra illuminates the land, may love fill my speech, may love fill my heart, may Ma'at guide my actions, with compassion for all beings, now and forever, today and all days.

Saturn: Kheper-Ra-Atum O Kheper, who rises at dawn, O Ra, the midday sun, O Atum, who sets at dusk, O You gods who travel the Day Barque, O You gods who travel the Night Barque, Shine on me, inspire me with Your light, Bless my hands to create, Bless my mind to Your inspiration, May Your fiery light shine on all my efforts, illuminating the two lands, now and forever, today and all days.

Just did my celebration for Heru-Wer and got reprimanded a bit. Had an earlier instance of ugly crying (for unrelated reasons) and he was like 'if you want strength from me, you gotta control your emotions.' He's right, unfortunately.

Digging up the old translations of Heru-wer's epithets, which I've read in its entirety many times before, and somehow this one always escaped my notice:

"nHp rMt- Who forms the humans on his potter's wheel."

The image of the potter's wheel is something I've only previously seen with Khnum. Any other Heru folks who would know more about this?
