it is canon straight from Nasus mouth that the clash that Rin and Sakura have in Heaven's Feel is Tokiomi's ideal path for both of them because it pushed them both to their limit as magus, let's also ABSOLUTELY not forget that Tokiomi had the chance to give Sakursa to the Edelfelts and he didn't out of sheer pride, in Apocrypha Sakura went to the Edelfelt and she became part of a lucha tag team with Luvia. Tokiomi was a HORRIBLE father and he got what he deserved.
I didn’t play Heaven’s Feel but when Kariya questioned him about Sakura and Rin fighting he did say he was happy about the idea of one of his daughters winning the war and the other being remembered as her powerful opponent, which is incredibly fucked up for a dad and born from the usual proud-magus-elitist-family thing
