Updated ref sheet of the Creature Sona
Finally I can show off the original species I've been working on! I was originally gonna color in all of these but it's been a hot minute and I really REALLY want to introduce them to y'all lol
Anyway... hexabeasts! As you can see they're a cross between mammals and insects. They have a chitinous exoskeleton that protects them+gives them support, but they also have a few exposed parts with fur!
Here's a ref of a wolf-wasp to get what I'm saying a little better:
Different orders can be easily identified since they often share common traits. Hymenopterids like the one shown above have very flexible gasters, lepidopterids (moths and butterflies) tend to have a more "cute and fluffy" look, with fur covering even the chitinous parts of their body, and dictyopterids (roaches, termites and mantises) are the opposite, they only have a little very short fur:
