Beekeeper’s quilt progress! 🐝🧶
I started this project in February of 2023 after seeing @ditsyknits’ rainbow hexipuff quilt! I found a way to knit the puffs together in rows, and I figured out my color pattern ahead of time. In the end, I’ll just be sewing the rows together. This is just one of my many WIPs!
Here’s how I predict it will look in the end:
June 11, 2022: 450 puffs
Happy Pride!! I love Gilbert Baker's original pride flag and the meanings behind it, and I realized this year that I have enough puffs to make my own.
Plus a little extra pride for my trans siblings. I love you guys and this blog will always stand in complete support of trans and nonbinary people
someone needs to give me a treat every time i reach a new milestone on my megachile plutokeepers quilt. im up to 19 megapuffs now
oh i have a name for the project now too i just looked up biggest bee dont worry about it
its a stupid joke because im making this fingering weight quilt in aran. its 2am. scheduling this for later
As if I don’t have enough projects going during this lockdown/quarantine, after seeing numerous people pick up the beekeeper’s quilt project, and after finding a number of people providing different possible types of designs (seriously, tons of Ghibli characters, Super Smash bros, Animal crossing, etc.), I was inspired to give in and try my hand at it. I looked at the designs then glanced at my yarn ‘wall’ and noticed I’m rather heavy in greens and gold/yellows. There is a reason for this as my kiddo is a HUGE (and by huge I mean GINORMOUS!) Legend of Zelda fan. Soooooo ... going to try to make a hexipuff quilt out of both colors with the design of a Tri-Force on it. We shall see a) if I have enough yarn, and b) if it works! lol If not, I’ll pick certain puffs to embroider the Tri-Force onto them, I guess. Either way, I know kiddo will be happy with it. This kid is addicted to the games, I swear! lol
Also tagging @thesleepyknitter who has been asking about our current projects. (this is YOUR FAULT! Thank you so very much! :) )
hex blanket progress!!
plus a photo minus the flowers! im a bit over a third of the way through the blanket, somewhere around 230 hexes. its coming along sooooo nicely and i am itching to sew them together!! but i must wait.....
man, when you are making a blanket, soon everything you do becomes in service of The Blanket. i am always making The Blanket...i work to make money to buy yarn to make The Blanket. i pay rent to have a home to put The Blanket in. every time i have a moment free i am working on The Blanket. i am like 400 hours into this thing and ive got another like 250 to go. it never ends...
160 hexes done of the hexipuff quilt! i am almost 1/3 of the way done! here's a pic with and without the flowers. it gets dark soooo soon and its hard to get pics of anything in natural lighting anymore! i think i may add lighter greens to help tie into the white flowers. heres a pic of what the finished quilt will look like and the color palette so far
