Last summer you took me to that old quarry where kids would jump off 40 foot rocks into the water below. I made you jump first and wait for me at the bottom because I thought I would be scared. But when I stood at the edge of that cliff, looking down at you, something strange happened. I didn’t think. I just jumped. I saw you and I knew I was safe and I was not scared. I surfaced and you kissed me and that was that. I like to think I fell in love with you in the same way. I was not scared. I looked at you and I knew. I just jumped and fell deep into you. But you left and now the water is filling my lungs and it’s hard to breathe and you are not there to kiss me when I come up for air. I guess I should’ve looked before I jumped.
