Upside Motion’s 3rd Anniversary Party

It wasn’t just like any other day at the studio on 25 April. On that special Saturday, we opened our doors and kick started Upside Motion’s 3rd Anniversary Party. Much thanks to all that came to celebrate with us! For those of you who couldn’t make it down, here’s a run-down of what you missed.

We spent the morning setting up our refreshments table, which included a whole chiller full of delicious bottles of Hic’Juice, a bowl of MyMaha Bliss Balls, and a spread of finger food such as mini quiches and eclairs. Needless to say, the juice and snacks were cleared out pretty quickly by our hungry guests after their workout sessions!

A huge source of fun and entertainment came in the form of a photo booth, where we camwhored our hearts out while wearing different props and making funky poses.

Our studio was pretty much bustling with activity from 12pm onwards, when the party officially began. First of all, our instructor Mirna conducted the 12.45pm Xtend Barre class, which was completely filled. It’s always so great to see a whole room full of pumped-up ladies working up a sweat!

After class, our guests would mingle outside the studio and at our Lorna Jane popup store in the other room. They’d brought in lots of cool designs and even offered a 15% discount on that day too. We had to restrain ourselves, or we’d have ended up cleaning out their stock before the guests had a chance to browse it themselves.

The lovely Sherise from Lorna Jane also conducted styling sessions for party guests, where we learnt how to match colours according to our skin tone, what looks good on different body types, and also how to care for a new piece from Lorna Jane. Did you know that pre-washing your garment with a tablespoon of salt helps lock in the colour of the product? We learn something new every day.

Let’s not forget the MAKE UP FOR EVER counter, where clients flocked to after class to glam up their faces after a sweaty workout. There was a whole range of waterproof Aqua testers like mascaras, eyeliners and lip liners, and a dish full of their new Plexi-Gloss lipglosses in a huge array of colours. Talk about spoilt for choice.

As the afternoon wore on, our guests lingered outside on the patio snacking and chatting casually, while our Pilates on the Patio session took place around the corner of the patio. It was an intimate and invigorating session, and a breath of fresh air for all.

After our last Xtend Barre class of the day started, it was time for the party to come to a close with a small lucky draw. We had a total of 10 lucky winners who walked away with various prizes from MAKE UP FOR EVER, Hic’Juice and free classes at Upside Motion! It was so rewarding to see happy faces everywhere.

We’d like to thank everyone who made this party possible - Hic’Juice, MyMaha, Lorna Jane, and MAKE UP FOR EVER for being a part of the celebrations; Willow & Huxley for their contribution to the goodie bags; our dedicated instructors who held out through multiple sessions through the day; and most importantly, our dear guests who visited us to join in the celebrations. We hope you had a wonderful time - we know we did.
