A Message To All My Haters-
Honestly, you don’t know me. You mock me for having good grades and sitting up on my high horse, but you don’t know the struggle as I rescue myself from the chains of anxiety every night. You poke fun at my strong convictions about feminism and Christianity, but you don’t know how hard it was for me to actually find passion in the first place. You say my family is well off but you don’t know the sleepless nights my parents experienced a little over 5 years ago when my dad didn’t have a job and we almost lost our home. You laugh at my decision to follow a God I cannot see but you don’t know the crisis of faith I endure every morning during my routine prayer time. You don’t see my doubts, my questions, my unanswered prayers that turn me to Scripture as I ask why, why, why. You think I judge you but you don’t know that I am the one who feels judged by literally every person who looks my way. You imagine I stay within my clique of friends because I just don’t like anyone else but you don’t know that I just can’t frickin talk like a normal person so I stay away. You say I’m a nerdy, weird, goody-two-shoes but you don’t see the intelligence, the beauty, and the rebel that lies within.
You see everything your social bias has constructed in your mind and think that what you assume me to be is who I really am. Well, news flash, you don’t know me so your stereotypes and presumptions about me don’t matter. Because only I can know the true me, therefore only I can have an honest and valid opinion of who that is. And here’s my opinion: I’m nothing like the person everyone thinks me to be. And I’m 100% okay with that. And that’s all that matters.
@mieleux tagged me in the snooping on your playlist meme and here i am 50000 years later... forgive the dad rock and my garbage taste idk

So at school we use this website called WebAssign for our math homework and
Sometimes I fucking hate WebAssign. I put parenthesis around my answer and it counted it wrong because it had the parenthesis around an ordered pair, but the website already had parenthesis around the answer box. I was fucking raging for like 5 minutes and even sent my teacher an ask because I KNEW my answer was right, but was confused as to why the stupid website wouldn't take it. This website makes math even more frustrating...
My parents say I can get into college because I have really good grades. But outside of that there's nothing notable or special. I'm a good student and i write mediocre fanfiction but besides that I've never achieved anything great. I don't even have a good personality. So I don't know if I would fit in at college but that's the only way to have a good life (I live in the US)
oh turtledove, you are not alone! like 99.9% of us have done jack-all at your age, as we barely know who we are as teenagers. college is a wonderful place to learn about yourself, but tht’s literally a life-long process. it can, however, give you a space to rly start down tht path and assist you in discovering more about you and what you want, than you ever thought possible.
remember, you don’t know-what you don’t know. college is an unknown, it’s scary for some, and not a good fit for others. it may or may not be right for you as it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and tht’s fine. heck you don’t even have to stay at one if it isn’t a good fit, i went to 5! and tht’s not uncommon.
so, if you want to go, i hope you will. i hope you’ll be open to new ideas, and new experiences and come to the realization tht you don’t need to achieve greatness to be a great person. best of luck to you turtledove!
Remember in high school when we rolled our eyes at our teacher for asking for a work cited page? and now how when we get into heated discussions we say, in all caps, “where’s your source?!?!! Better not be fucking wikipedia!!”
