🚶‍♂️ Just a few days ago, I shared my walk to High Cup Nick, starting from the lovely village of Dufton. This charming spot is probably the most popular starting point for the adventure, and if you’ve never tried it, I definitely recommend it.

🌳 Today, I’m excited to unveil a similar High Cup Nick walk, but this time from the quaint village of Murton. This alternate route through the North Pennines is captivating with its challenging ascents and the dramatic vistas of High Cup Nick. Starting from Murton adds a fresh perspective to this beloved walk, offering new scenes and experiences even for seasoned walkers.

🌄 High Cup Nick: Just Spectacular!

📝 I've recently updated a section of my website dedicated to showcasing one of Northern England's premier walking routes: the trek to High Cup Nick from Dufton. This is a route I've explored several times and strongly recommend for its stunning views and straightforward path.

🚶‍♂️ Starting from Dufton, which offers convenient parking and toilets, the walk follows the clear, well-marked Pennine Way. As you ascend, the landscape gradually opens up, revealing the breathtaking High Cup Gill valley—a view that never fails to impress.

🔍 Choosing a clear day is vital as weather conditions greatly influence visibility. My website offers all the essential information to plan your walk, including maps, route directions, and details like distance, duration, and ascent. I've also provided a parking location, map recommendations, and some background on High Cup Nick to enhance your journey.

📸 While my photos may not fully do justice to the area's beauty, they'll give you a taste of what to expect. The walk I detail took place in late April a few years back, made even more memorable by the enchanting spread of bluebells in Flakebridge Wood.

🍻 Concluding your walk with a visit to the local pub in Dufton, especially to enjoy a drink in the beer garden on a warm day, is the perfect way to wrap up your adventure. The beer garden's comfortable setting and fantastic views towards the Cross Fell range of mountains are not to be missed.

🌳 This walk covers roughly 12 miles and takes about 5½ to 6 hours to complete. Given the extraordinary scenery, I recommend allowing extra time to fully soak in some of the finest views Northern England has to offer.
