Work In Progress shots from the cover to Higher Earth issue 8 from Boom! studios. The story is about multiple realities and the different earths that have connected via interdimensional means. There is a hierarchy in that structure, with some Earths being better off than others, and this cover shows the infinite variations of the protagonist.

I liked this idea a hell of a lot as it meant I only had to draw one face. I also really dug this character and ended up inventing my own narratives to go with the cover ideas, because they were done so far in advance the comic hadn’t been made yet!

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of which titles Jupiter Ascending has 'taken inspiration' from. As a consummate Grant Morrison fan, I always get a little irked at these particular creators.

yeah, I don’t want people to think I was calling them plagiarists, but the setting, story tropes, and some of the character archetypes are very much similar to Higher Earth. The Wachowskis are known for drawing heavy inspiration from the media they like, but so much of Jupiter Ascending seems lifted out that comic. It’s not a one-to-one comparison, but they’re very similar.

I don’t want to make a snap judgment based on one trailer, though.
