For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
It is easy to forget that God does not see things as we do. We tend to focus on ourselves; how things affect and involves us. God has more than just us in mind; he looks at how we fit into his plans that affect and involves others as well as meet our needs.
We are limited by our finite mind and understanding, our inability to see past, present and future as one. God has no such limitations. Often in meeting our needs he has a larger plan in mind that reaches far beyond us when completed. He can use our needs and desires to meet the needs and desires of others at the same time. Like the ripple a stone makes when thrown into the water, what starts out with us can have an ever widening reach to many others over many years!
Never underestimate what God can do through you. It is not about who you are or what you have but who he is, God Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Lord of lords and Kings of kings, Ancient of Days, who knows the thoughts he thinks towards us! (Jeremiah 29:11)
