This Zhu Ni Shiu Ping is from the early nineties. It has been brewing High Mountain Oolongs for me a beautifully since it found me. The high fired clay has a very nice ping when the lid gently strikes the pot. The teapot's shiny red color deepens when hot water is poured into and over it while brewing. The relatively small size, about 140ml is good for one or two people. #smacha #deicious #zhuni #yixingclay #yixing #highmountainoolong #ping #highfired #teamakesahappyday #teamaster #shuiping #Taiwan #tea #cha #te #beautiful #90's #pnw #seattle #curvysides
#11. This blue fish jar is so firmly imprinted in my memory as part of the furniture of my childhood. The raisin pot brought down off a high shelf to add something sweet to our breakfast. Lidded porcelaneous-stoneware jar with a blue slip over painted wax-resist with iron decoration and a pale celadon glaze (H 16cm; D 10cm; mark ‘eye’ and ‘small m’)
#3. Small stoneware jar with a blue glaze over shino slip and wax-resist decoration with a black slip around the foot (height 12.5cm; rim 7.5cm; mark 'eye')
Some new possibilities thanks to @theokidokistudio @asartoriusceramics and @bethbolglastudio for letting me slip some stuff into their soda kiln. #sodafiredceramics #handbuilt #highfired #atmosphere (at Shokan, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPvMc8kjazv/?utm_medium=tumblr
I dont often use #fulters when I am showing #colors or #results other than for plain #clay which is often prettier with a deeper hue... also bone dry can be so light grey and boring... the only thing that looks worse is this beige clay #highfired without a clear glaze on it... https://www.instagram.com/p/CEmXEHDJqbS/?igshid=1i7wy2j87zze1
