Perhaps I am speculating again, but when Ponk tells CPK that Schlatt was always kind to them, that Schlatt’s reputation isn’t all there is to his story. 

I wonder if Ponk might also be talking about another lost soul demonized by the stories of history that are told. Another person who was always kind to them. 

When Ponk tells CPK they’d be willing to support him, I wonder if they’re thinking about someone else they fought for. Someone they lost an arm trying to save.

The prime path war is the best evidence we have that Bad isn’t possessed, at least not fullly. One of the hallmarks of egg posesstion is an obsession with and focus on the egg. People who fell under the egg stopped hanging out with other people, stopped projects that weren’t about the egg, and just encouraged the egg to spread.

The egg doesn’t care about the soul of a road and beautifying, the egg cares about eating players souls spreading and possessing people.

Yeah the egg doesn’t like Tommy but in a this person is a threat, get rid of the threat way. Most people have strong feelings towards the egg. Tommy feels nothing, so he can’t be effected or converted. His presence might even shake off egg brainwashing. The egg wanted him dead and not involved.

Why would the egg want to a extract mild collaboration and compromise through an epic high effort prank war? Bad specifically didn’t want to drive Tommy off, which again doesn’t match with our understanding of the egg’s objective.

It’s the Scots that are the stand-out example of my “expectation management” hypothesis.  Why were the Scots less opposed to Brexit than the English?  It’s because the Scots had their expectations managed, they know that England wouldn’t care if they all were eaten by Nessie. Being screwed by the English is just part of being Scottish, to them Scotland is just a place to park nuclear weapons.  

So of course they’re not going to make a big deal out of it and vote Brexit.  That would be ridiculous. The English have successfully managed the expectations of Scotland. While they have a nationalist party, but it’s a left-wing one and not anti-immigrant.

And so, if you take this view you can see Bernie/SNP/Syriza as what happens when people know shit is fucked but it’s fucked in exactly the way they were expecting. They weren’t betrayed because they never trusted.
