Advice for Highschool Freshman
I crawled my way through the first year of high school so I thought I could give some tips ive picked up. Clichè as some of these are, it’s what I’ve learned. I had a lot of anxiety and I didn’t know what to expect so if you’re in the same boat I was, stick around 👉😎👉
Studyblr/langblr overdue intro
Hey there!
Okay wow, I’m assuming this is one of those things you’re supposed to do first when you start up your blog but whatever, I got the memo I’m doing it now!
About me:
I should probably tell you my name first, I’m Olivia
I’m 15 and a high school freshman
I’m from the northwest and not the least bit upset about the rain
I’m currently learning Swedish and Latin and hoping to learn Spanish and Korean
Chemistry is my favorite class
I’m always and forever listening to music but lo-fi anything is my favorite
I’m an Enfj
More importantly I’m a Ravenpuff
Reasons for studyblr:
improve my handwriting, honestly
learn how to take good notes and study effectively
remember why I love learning
(look at too many aesthetic pictures)
blogs I love:
@emmastudies (she’s getting me through high school) @gayforlangs @tbhstudying @i-wanna-be-a-polyglot @riralia and @langsandculture
"You're a highschool freshman you should have your entire life laid out for you?!?!?!?? You can't not have plans for your future?!?!?!?" "Watch me."
So... I start high school on September 2nd-3rd (I don’t remember exactly). I’m fucking terrified. I’m not scared it’ll be different from middle school, I’m scared it’ll be the same. I don’t know what I’m gonna do, I’ve grown apart from basically my only non-online friend over summer vacation, and I’m not sure if I even have any classes with him. I’m not out irl as genderqueer/nonbinary so I also have to deal with 3-4 years of “she” and “her”. Plus I’m still trying to figure out what I even want my name to be, so the whole year I’ll have to live with my deadname and all that yummy social disphoria, although I’m lucky enough not to feel physical dysphoria just the usual teenage body hate. Ideally I’d drop out or graduate early but I’m not sure if that’s an option for me. At least I’m starting my driver’s ed lessons soon so I can get my drivers license and blow this popsicle stand as soon as I’m legal... anyhow, sorry for the rant... if u want to give advice that’d be super appreciated but if not I just wanted to get this out there. ❤️
Back to school 2018-19 !
It’s almost time to go back to school! I plan on posting a lot of stuff to help everyone out. This post is about tips for high school freshman (these tips work out for all grade levels though)
1. Don’t procrastinate. Trying to catch up in order to keep your GPA up at the end of the year will be a pain in the butt. It’s better off to just start the year well and continue that way.
2. Be involved. Join sports and clubs, it’s never too late to pick up a new hobby. High school is about finding out who you are, the best way to do that is by trying something new. There’s a sport and club for every personality type.
3. Don’t be afraid of loosing friends. It’s very rare to leave high school with the same group of friends you left 8th grade with. That’s okay. It just means that you’ve all grown up and changed.
4. Don’t focus on dating. Sure dating is fun and all but along with dating in high school comes a lot of drama. Drama distracts you from school. You’re at school to learn not to “fall in love”.
5. Don’t wear too much makeup. I’ve seen a lot of girls who experiment with makeup and just end up looking ridiculous. Less is more when it comes to makeup. Don’t forget that.
6. Make memories and have fun. Go to a party every once and then. Make new friends and hang out with them. Some friends are only meant to be there for a little while but don’t forget to have fun either way.
High school is what you make it. So try to be as positive as possible. Happy blogging !
