Half-Life 2 - Highway 17
Half-Life 2
I was super bored in class the other day, and because I wasn't in the front row I couldn't start mindlessly scrolling through tumblr so I ended up writing 2000+ words of half life fanfiction. I'm not entirely sure how that happened but tbh I'm liking it so far
ive just been staring at my pfp for 5 minutes
this goes so raw

People were talking today about that part of Highway 17 so I drew a doodle (while in a car) of what I do at that part and most other parts of Highway 17 - slam down on turbo with reckless abandon 😌
Replaying Half Life 2, and goddamn. The bridge sequence in Highway 17 just hits me in the soul. The entire chapter of the game is so atmospheric, but this particular part makes me feel so many feelings. Maybe it's that the soundtrack is there to set the mood just a little before fading back into the ambient sea noises or the fact that I spent half of it using the crossbow far from any real action. Whatever it is, I almost feel disconnected from reality when I play it. I can feel the environment. It's cold and wet, and I can almost taste the salt from the sea spray.
Stuff like this makes me glad I got into Half Life.
