Wait, can i ask what happened with the Leokumi ship? You mentioned that it never really recovered. I have been out of the Fates fandom for 2 years now and I used to ship them, so Im curious if you know what happened to it. (no name dropping though, Im not asking for that, and if this question makes you uncomfortable, you're more than welcome to delete it).
I am not sure what you are talking about? Leokumi didn’t decline much. It just went quieter naturally, as the fandom moved on to other things.
I think you misread some post where I talked about this happening to Hinakumi. Hinakumi was small, but stable as a ship until some of the fans decided to bash Leokumi and their fans. The normal members left after that and there wasn’t much to prop up Hinakumi anymore, hence the rather massive decline.
Part two involves Takumi!Hisame and Hinata!Kiragi Honestly, Hinakumi is pretty underrated imo. Hinata doing so much to make his liege happy warms my heart ;__;
Here’s the fam supports for the Hinakumi fam~~ These were written by @parrythemoon! I also linked the original S in case you hadn’t seen it/wanted to see it again!
These convos will be available in a future update of my gay Fates hack!

Summary: Drinking was supposed to make you uninhibited, so Hinata always needed to watch himself.
AN: y'all will pry heteroflexible Hinata from my cold dead hands
It was only after a few drinks that Hinata would allow his mind to wander freely. After all, it made sense right? Alcohol was supposed to make you lose your inhibitions or something? It was reasonable that it required a few drinks for him to let his thoughts about Takumi creep in.
Hinata stared down at his glass, his third one of the night. He could hear Takumi’s laughter drifting from the bar to their booth and his hand squeezed around the glass. It used to be easier - Hinata's desperate feelings for him. Hell, he used to not even realize. Why would he, lady-killer Hinata, always flirting with (and being conned by) girls wanna date a guy? Although he supposed this was different. He never wanted to date other men, he just wanted to date Takumi. Even after a few years of his “crush” it was difficult for Hinata to face it without a couple beers beforehand. A few drinks and then he could wallow in his misery until he could repress it in the morning.
It would've been so much easier to get over if just one little fact would change.
“I can't take you anywhere, can I?” Oboro said as Takumi and her rejoined Hinata. “Aren't I supposed to be the one constantly being hit on, and then you puff up about it or something? I can't get you through one night without some guy wanting to get with you.”
“What can I say?” Takumi shrugged, sitting down. “I can't help that that everyone wants to bang me.”
Takumi being bi was the problem. If Hinata could hold onto the fact that he stood no chance, that Takumi was into women and that was it, getting over his feelings would be so much easier. Knowing he would date guys was too much of a tease. It was too easy to imagine and pretend. Sometimes Hinata wished he could go back and time and stop Takumi from telling him, so he could stay in his blissful ignorance.
“Besides, we both know you would end up yelling at a guy for hitting on you long before I would,” Takumi said. He glanced over at Hinata. “You doing alright there, Hinata?”
Hinata glanced up from his glass. He plastered on a smile, laughing quickly as he leaned back. “Oh whoops, sorry, guess I just spaced out.”
“Well come back down,” Oboro said. “before you run out of oxygen in your own head.”
“A lack of oxygen would explain his lack of brain cells,” Takumi said, resting his chin on his folded hands. "You at least don't have to worry about me getting all my money stolen by pretty women, Oboro."
"That's happened like once!" Hinata protested.
"More like once a month," Takumi said, throwing an arm around him. "You're lucky to have such a caring friend who will save you from your empty bank account. The friend is me, by the way."
Hinata's mind had stopped working the second Takumi had touched him, though. Drinking out with them had been a mistake. How was he to keep his straight exterior like this?
Part of Hinata just wanted to confess, to stop torturing himself and admit to Takumi he was interested. Maybe it would turn into some hallmark moment. He'd be transported into a movie instead of the reality he was in. Except he couldn't confess, not with Oboro in the picture. You can't tell a guy you have the hots for him when he's been in a long term relationship with your mutual best friend. At that point there wasn't much of a good option either way. On one end there was rejection and a strained friendship, and on the other was cheating and Hinata couldn't do that to Oboro even if he had the chance. Besides, he could see from how Takumi acted around her he was still just as hooked as he was in highschool. Hinata was completely out of his depth here.
“Do you wanna head home soon?” Takumi asked, checking his phone for the time. “I have to get to the office early tomorrow.”
“Yeah, we can start heading out,” Oboro agreed. “Do you need a ride, Hinata?”
He thinks it's their constant friendliness that was the worst to him. Maybe if Oboro was more possessive, or Takumi a bit more standoffish, Hinata could finally get rid of these feelings. He could kill them where they stood instead of struggling. It was ridiculous how tough it was to ditch his crush on Takumi - would it be rude to beg his closest friends to hate him?
“No,” Hinata said. “I'll just call a cab.”
“Are you sure?” Takumi asked. “We don't mind. I'd rather make sure you get home safe.”
A genuine smile came to Hinata’s lips unbidden. “No, it's fine. Honestly.” God, he couldn't wait until the morning so he could repress all his thoughts over this.
“Well, call us if you need anything,” Oboro said as she stood. “You know Takumi at least will come rushing to save you if needed.”
“Eh, depends. I'm done saving you from bar fights, but I can at least help protect you from your poor sense of direction.” Takumi grinned at him and Hinata could physically feel himself fall deeper. God, how hard was it to climb out of this hole he dug for himself?
“It's not that bad. I know my address and that's all the cab needs.” Hinata stretched in his seat. “You two go ahead and ditch.”
The two days their goodbyes and left, leaving Hinata alone in the booth. The bar was emptier compared to when they had first arrived. The hustle and bustle of the night has dwindled into a calm murmur of people drinking and talking. Hinata ran a hand over his face and stared at the table.
He started to wonder what Takumi would feel like up close. How soft his skin was and where he could kiss that was sensitive. He let his mind soak in unmoderated thoughts, trying to enjoy each one before packing it away from the night. He would never get to satisfy his curiosity so what did it matter?
Hinata downed the rest of his beer and stood. He was tired from the night and ready to go to sleep. He didn't think about what his dreams would be of.
