As I learn shortly after meeting Waajeed, 3000 East Grand is the home of Submerge: the operational facade of pioneering techno label Underground Resistance and its affiliates. Relocated from its original home at 2030 Grand River in 2002 it continues to stand as a “silent hub for Detroit techno”; a proud bastion of independence and creativity built with the blood, sweat and tears of the second generation of techno.
