Devils Gate, Nevada.  Just outside Silver City Devil's Gate is a narrow canyon that separates Silver City from Gold Hill, Nevada. Gold was discovered here in 1850, which led to the Comstock Lode mining bonanza. Narrow Devil's Gate was a popular place for highwaymen to relieve travelers of their possessions. I have added a picture I found from the opposite side, taken in 1860
