In the amphitheater of Italica (southern Spain, ancient Hispania) was found a painting depicting the goddess Hekate. Although the original was destroyed, allegedly by visitors, two watercolor copies made by its discoverer, Demetrio de los Ríos (1862), are preserved. Supossedly, the image was part of a little shrine or chapel dating to the third or fourth century CE.
