Love Goals

So I was talking to one of my classmates who has been married for over 10 years and has three kids. When I asked her about her husband she broke into the biggest smile and with pride was like “ my husband is my best friend and the most handsomest man I know.” She need proceeded to take out her laptop and turn the screen towards me where the background image is literally the biggest image of her husband and her with the biggest smiles on their faces. After looking at her screen for a good two minutes she turns to me and says “ isnt he so handsome? I got so lucky!” If that isn’t goals I don’t know what is….

Taking a minute..

to recognize some things:

I love being Latina/Guatemalan-American

I love I grew up in the hood with with nothing fancy and with Guate and Mexican influences. 

I love my brown caramel skin. 

I love that I’m still in Latino neighborhood in our little house and big backyard.

I love that some days I wake up and can hear the neighbors bumping mariachi and banda while they work outside or wash their cars. 

I love that I still hear the ice cream man or elote man.

I love embracing my culture and customs.

Being on tumblr for a while now I’ve noticed there really isn’t much Hispanic,Latina,Spanish and so on beauty, self confidence, self love blogs. Every time I search for something I see nudity and a lot of sexualization. There are times where i feel upset I can not find anything comfortable or appropriate to reblog that will make me feel happy to see Spanish beauty or self love. I’m always seeing blogs for all sorts of races but never....for us....if there are there isn’t many and it really does hurt. I remember there were a point i near cried because I were sick of seeing naked hispanics everywhere i searched. It’s that bad and I were scared to speak up, but I honestly can not take it anymore... I can’t. 

It’s frustrating and upsetting, I’d like to see some Hispanic, Latina and Spanish beauties and smiles! I’ve been thinking of making another side blog just for the case. So if there are any fellow Hispanics, latinas or spanish ladies and gentlemen out there please feel free to let me know if you all would be interested with an ask.    I’d love to see love for our culture. The love for our gorgeous homelands.  Appreciation for the way our bodies were born. The beauty of the colour of our skin. Just anything that we love,and makes us happy.  Let it be food, scenery, snuggling, reading books, drinking tea, waking up, anything! It’s beautiful to me because it’s us doing something other then being naked or screwing. I know there has to be others who are too scared to speak up because they may be attacked who feel the same way.  I love you all and thank you for taking the time to read this.
