Secret Santa 2025
Gift for @tipsypixel-sims
Another great event at Plumb Bob Keep, in which my Santee was the terrific Tipsypixel, who requested some goodies for @arendholmislands. Needless to say, I was very inspired by such a beautiful world!
Tons of deco textiles and furs for decorating benches, counters, floors, and walls.
Some wolves.
Various flowers, plants, and trees native to Britain made seasonal.
Rocks and more rocks edited to texture-reference Marvine's Waterfall Shower Matching Rock 01 and to allow for snow to accumulate in winter.
Items have been edited to be repriced, recategorized, recolorable, room ratings lowered, add and/or remove tiles, viewable in neighborhood mode, thumbnails fixed, shine removed from TXMT, and then recolored, as well as compressed. A collection file and swatches are included in the folder for convenience. File names have been changed, but the original GUIDs have been kept! These edits will overwrite the originals in-game. Please see the attached text document file for additional information and links to original sets where possible. All credits and a world of thanks goes to the original creators!
Freedom of Thought: The Case Against Banning Books
Banning books limits our intellectual freedom and stifles our growth as individuals. In this blog post, we explore the harmful effects of book banning, from the slippery slope of censorship to the impact on education and the creative freedom of authors an
Hello there, fellow book lovers! Today, I want to talk about a topic near and dear to our hearts: intellectual freedom. As readers, we know how powerful books can be in shaping our ideas and understanding of the world. They expose us to new perspectives, challenge our assumptions, and help us grow as individuals.
But what happens when some people decide that certain books are too dangerous or…
Of All the Mamluk
Summer Secret Santa 2025
Gift for Rugrat0ne
This set was made possible thanks to the fabulous Rugrat0ne at Plumb Bob Keep and heavily inspired by the Mamluk Sultanate time period. Historical simmers may recognize Kativip's Legend Series ACR set (fixed by Raynuss), which is based on an early Ottoman Empire style, but textures and references were attempted to be as close to Mamluk as possible. I hope other simmers obsessed with history enjoy everything as much as I did creating it for Rugat0ne!

Files have been renamed, optimized, and compressed. Optimization typically includes fixing thumbnails, modifying room rating, repricing, recategorizing, and removing unnecessary entries in the packages. Swatches included for several objects. Collection file is included. Many thanks and credit given to the creators and my Santee for making this work of love happen!
Great success! The first of many sets from TS4 I have planned to convert. Everything aside from the framed cameo is functional, with a custom broken state for the kerosene lamp. Huge thanks to Maya40 for her assistance with the broken glass for that object.

As always, everything is labeled and compressed, and please alert me to any issues. Originally created for TS4 by MeadowSims here, with my greatest thanks for making an antique camera!
Another easel paint brush replacement using another Leoz94 converted object from Bioshock: Infinite. Reminder: there can be only one! This will overwrite the previous file I created in Part I.
Even though the marvelous @msbarrows abandoned us left the TS2 community over a decade ago, her lovely creations are still essential for any Victorian game. These are her Victorian textures on the painting frame as default replacements, and I sincerely cannot believe I didn't think of this sooner! The paintings featured here are from Part I.
SWATCH
The Independent Expressions Inc. Easel edited to remove the paint tubes in the tray and with a dark texture replacement, then recolored using Aweeshie's volatile retexture as a base in Aelia's Eco Naturals.
SWATCH
The grilled cheese paintings from FreeTime replaced using 19th century artwork featuring food.
And now for the bonus goodies! This is Steffor's Fairy Easel heavily edited to remove the clutter and updated with @belladovah's edits to AnoeskaB's easels. My object will replace the original. I've also included the recolors @riekus13 did in this amazing set that inspired me to finally complete this upload.
This is Gorey's conversion of an Awesims' painting that Malle recolored ages ago that I was able to separate into two different subsets: frame and painting. (Hooray for new skills!) The file name has been changed and will overwrite the original object in the game as it has the same GUID. Frame recolors are Malle's originals with Victorian art.
SWATCH
A Bioshock easel converted by @leoz94, updated with BellaDovah's easel edits and adjusted to be recolorable. Lately I've been on a quest to make a lot of game conversions functional, and this object is perfect for 19th century games.
In the never-ending quest to improve old content, Maya40 at the Historical Sims Discord was kind enough to fulfill a request from me to remap Taroo's Atelier Canvases. The textures are vastly improved, and I've made additional objects with Taroo's originals. Too many paintings were used in this creation to include a swatch, but several are used in the above preview pictures. Thank you for the lovely work, Maya!
And last, but certainly not least, as I get the feeling I'll be revisiting the entire set someday, is the canvas storage object from Tinkle's The Artist set edited to have two subsets and recolored. The wooden frame is a separate subset from the paintings, and I also created a collection of those same paintings grouped together on the floor.
All files have been renamed and compressed with a collection file included. Many thanks to all the creators whose works I used in parts or whole to make this set possible and The Society Papers gang for their patience while I sorted this out! As always, feel free to use and abuse anything included in this set, and let me know of any errors. Enjoy!
Wonderful things are happening at the Historical Sims Discord, and you should join us there!
My contribution to The Society Papers monthly theme!
This set features Kativip’s Memory Series Hospital and Laboratory objects edited to be made functional, rescaled, and/or into clutter.
Bed - The mesh has been edited to remove the stuffed animal at the foot of the bed and the texture has been cleaned up for a less worn look.
Bedpan - A functional bedpan cloned from Sunni’s chamber pot with a deco version. Both have been rescaled to a better proportion and a lovely re-texture by Cupcakeyy has been included.
Chair - The decorative chairs have been rescaled, and a functional version made.
Crutches - Base texture on the mesh has been edited to remove the black part at the bottom, with a smaller crutch created to fit child sims. Additional recolors can be found here.
Instruments - Clutter created from the main mesh with everything repositoried to the tray that’s full of instruments.
Pail - Rescaled and recolored to include a water texture.
Painting - Base object texture replaced and Science enthusiasm added when the Sim views the painting with the FreeTime expansion pack.
Radiator - Made functional using Raynuss’s Home Comforts radiator object and edited to stay viewable with walls down. Sims will “Warm Up” if their temperature is too low.
Coat Rack - The mesh has been edited to remove clutter and made functional for the Seasons expansion pack.
Microscope - Made functional using Fractured Moonlight’s microscopes and sims will gain both Logic skill and Science enthusiasm with it.
Everything has been labelled, compressed, repositoried where possible, and resorted into various Buy Mode categories depending on the type/function of the object. A collection file has been included for convenience. Some objects will overwrite the originals. A huge thank you to Kativip, Raynuss, Sunni, Fractured Moonlight, and Fire_flower for their work/assistance with making this set possible!

In my quest to achieve a more perfect 1880s game, here’s my first offering of what’s going to be massive default replacements project, starting with name replacements for NPCs and townies!
What’s included in this Live.package: English names from the Victorian era for both female and male first and last names, using historical data and borrowing a bit from literature and other media based on English culture. (I’m a huuuuge Jane Austen fan, and I’ve recently become obsessed with Downton Abbey, so don’t be surprised if you see quite a bit of names from those works make an appearance in your neighborhoods!)
What’s NOT included: Non-English first and surname counterparts that were originally included in the game. (Historical accuracy and cultural respect is very important to me, and I just don’t think the parameters in which Maxis handles variation is sufficient enough to let the game randomly assign appropriate name combinations. I plan to create custom townies to honor the many cultures living in Victorian England in the late 19th century.)
Many thanks to Jordi’s work over at MTS, whose package I modified to fit my own game. Several names are repeated several times, and the last name lists are identical. As stated on the original post, this will not affect current NPCs, but will change the names of new NPCs/townies generated by the game. A new neighborhood was created to test these with clean templates.
