Functional Victorian Washstand
This is a washstand by Kerrigan House Designs, and since released, I dreamed of it being a functional wash basin. I imagined how I could do it, but I lacked the know-how.
NOT ANYMORE!
With the help of Serinion's "Ablution Chamber Basin", I have managed to make this function as a proper bedroom basin, for your sims to do their daily wash!
There's a misconception that Victorians and previous generations didn't bathe at all - the truth is that they didn't sit in a bath, or a stand in a shower on a regular basis; what they did do, is WASH. This is where they would have a basin and jug in their bedroom, and they would use this to wash their smelly parts - or any other part of their body they wished to clean.
This basin functions as a sink - you can brush your teeth, wash your hands, shave your face; as well as take a "sponge bath" OFF THE GRID.
I have added the "Sponge Bath" interaction by connecting the basin with Cepzid's "Sponge Bath at Sink" Mod - so it is required in order for this to work.
Another feature is the mirror; it's impossible for the functioning sink to be in the same file as a mirror; and KHD's washstand did not feature a real mirror. So, I have created a separate mirror that just slots into place. Once placed, it will move with the stand, so you don't have to move things separately.
In Build/Buy, I have put the washstand and the mirror in the plumbing category, right next to each-other, so that you don't have to search around, and go different places to put it all together:
There's six different swatches, which will hopefully fit nicely in whichever room you want to place it!
I have also put lots of slots by the water jug, so you can place soaps and towels or other knick-knacks as you please.
To use this wash stand, you will need:

You can also download the whole "Linen" set by Kerrigan House Designs, which the basin is a part of, here~ (but, not required for this item)
Enjoy!!
Final Note: A huge thank you to my friends on the Sims History discord for all their help and support!
Update 24/02/2026: Remade uv_1 and no longer shows transparent when MXAO is enabled within ReShade. Reduced polycount. If you want to keep the HQ file, and don't use MXAO, feel free to keep using the old file.

An invisible recolor of EpiSims Sunlamp Controller
Something small this week.
@episims Sunlamp Controller is an object that makes all lamps in a room work like the Seasons sun lamp.
I made a simple invisible recolor to make it usable in themed games.
Mesh isn't included, you can get it on the linked page. Don't forget to read the explanation.

Medieval Vet Tools Override
A small override mod for veterinary tools in a medieval style. It replaces the modern vet clinic equipment with simpler and more “old-fashioned” versions that fit historical and fantasy gameplay better.
I mostly made it for myself and my own saves, but if anyone else finds it useful — feel free to use it 🌿

10 Random Questions, Tag 10 Random Simmers!
To Thank you all for 3000 Followers!!! I am going to be answering 10 Random Questions about me!
1. If you could travel one place in the world where would you travel?
If I could travel one place in the world it would probably have to be France. Mainly because the history and architecture! I find the people and the setting to be so interesting. To be more specific, I would definitely have to visit the Palace of Versailles!
2. What do you do in your free time away from Sims?
So surprisingly I really enjoy sports. For a while I ran track, however, I’ve really enjoyed playing lacrosse for the last three years. I love to hang out with my friends and lately I’ve been practicing more lacrosse during Quarantine, since our season was cut short this year :(
3. What other games do you play besides The Sims?
I play a lot on Ps4... specifically a lot of Red Dead Redemption, Dead by Daylight, Star-dew Valley, and COD.
4. How tall are you?
I am one of the taller people in my family, last time I checked I was 5′11 but that was a few months ago, so either I’ve grown or I’ve shrank!
5. One random interest of yours?
As you can probably tell, I weirdly enough have a huge interest in historical fashion. I truly believe clothing and how people used to dress tells a variety of different stories. There’s so much history behind it and a lot to get into, but it really does intrigue me!
6. Current Favorite Bands or Artists?
Sooooo, I have really been listening to a lot of Fleetwood Mac lately, I love the smooth rock and roll, and messages in their music. However, for a while I’ve been listening to Lana Del Rey, Post Malone, and The Rolling Stones.
7. Something your looking forward to.
Besides going back to school and getting out of the house. I am super excited to start my senior year in the fall, and finish up high school. I’ve been looking into colleges and hopefully will be able to attend some college tours in July!
8.Current Favorite Films.
I am a movie fanatic! The films that I have watched a few times over again lately have been The Wolf of Wall street, Lady Bird, The Witch, and White Bird in a Blizzard. If you can’t tell I love a variety of different genres.
9. Who is a Historical Icon who has left a impact on your life?
I’m not sure if Emma Watson counts, however, I love what she has done for the feminist movement and I believe her approach has started to bring awareness and change. And her attitude towards feminism is ideal and allows others to take part in the movement. Oh and out of pure enjoyment, Marie Antoinette. :p
10. Favorite Series (Book or Movie series) :)
Okay, listen I’m a extreme Potter head. The series has made me the person I am today. Not to exaggerate either but that book series really helped raise me and taught me so much, and helped me through so much as a child. I still watch the movies to this day, and may or may not be re-reading the series for the fourth time!

My simself as a 1860s-ish lady, made for a challenge on the sims of history discord (shared 3rd place yay)
Victorian Range (functioning stove and oven)
Ladies and Gentlemen; Servants, Cooks, Maids, and Kitchen Hands; finally we have the latest in Victorian cooking technology for your big homes, mansions, halls, abbeys, palaces (or, just busy kitchens!): The Range.
IRL I want a range so badly. If I were rich enough (one day 🤞🏻) to get a Victorian house, I will make sure there's a functioning range!
There are other Victorian-style functioning ovens on the Sims 4 cc market, but none of this style (that I have found); and it was something I really wanted for my palace; we have a very big kitchen, but only small sized ovens!!
I am really not good at building from scratch, so attempts were quickly abandoned.
THEN I saw @baumgarten-sims had released a small, deco range in their Thyme Kitchen set, and I thought it was beautiful! But I lacked the knowledge to make it functioning, and it wasn't quite as big as I wanted (as pictured below).
One of the issues I thought was a big problem, was that the oven doors for these style of oven all open vertically, and there is no Sims 4 animation for oven doors to open that way. THEN Felixandre released a big oven in their Estate set, which had similar doors, but opened HORIZONTALLY (as pictured below)
DING 💡 I got the idea that I could make it work.
So began the long and arduous, and frustrating, and complicated journey to make a functioning Victorian range in the size and style I wanted for my kitchens.
One of the first features of the oven that I wanted, adding to the realism, is that you shouldn't be able to cook anything unless the fire has been lit!!! In Victorian kitchens, the first thing done in the morning was lighting the range fire - it can take a while for the cast iron oven to heat up, and maintain a constant temperature. In The Sims, however, you can cook whenever.
BUT, in comes @littlbowbub! Littlebowbub has a Medieval Cookbook, and accompanying ovens where you have to light the fire before you can cook! Thank you LBB for saving my life, I don't think I would have been able to do it without you (or at least until I learn waaay more about writing tuning).
SO, Littlbowbub's Medieval cookbook IS REQUIRED in order to use the oven. You can download individual recipes (as labelled as part of the Medieval collection), as well as a starter pack; these recipes are actually very accurate for Victorian game-play, I love them. There's also a new "fine-dining" category, which has even more dishes for your rich sims.
With the Medieval cookbook, you also need to download Homestead Helper, this allows you to make some of the ingredients for cooking; I also recommend you download the Hunting & Foraging mod, so that your sims can go out to hunt for their meat, and forage for other things.
Now to the oven itself 😋
Like other ovens, there are two functioning elements on the top (these are the front, right-hand elements). All other elements have slots for you to put deco pots/pans, or anything. The far right oven door is the functioning one - the other two, unfortunately due to constraints, are just decoration. The fire in the centre is a real fire animation, and will turn on once the sim has lit the fire!
There's three versions: short, medium, and tall
There are five mantle colours, and eight brick and stone colours - so 40 swatches in total.
And, like everything I release, it's Off The Grid!!
I feel like this is such a big achievement for me, and it's really one of my favourite things!
Thank you again to Baumgarten and Littlbowbub for graciously giving me permission to release this - I am so, so glad I am able to share!

Update 30/09/2025 - updated posts to include the requirement for the LBB Hearth Oven in order for this to work
Functional Victorian Wash Basin
Your new favourite basin and jug!
While working on some Sims 2 > Sims 4 conversions, I found this deco wash basin by Parsimonious, part of their "Monte Carlo" bedroom set, and fell in love with it!
So, once again, with the help of Serinion's "Ablution Chamber Basin", I have made this a functioning wash basin for The Sims 4!
This basin functions as a sink - you can brush your teeth, wash your hands, shave your face; as well as take a "sponge bath" OFF THE GRID.
I have added the "Sponge Bath" interaction by connecting the basin with Cepzid's "Sponge Bath at Sink" Mod - so it is required in order for you to wash the body.
There's five different porcelain colours, each with five different towel colours:
I just love the texture of the light coloured ones; in case you aren't aware, there can only be one "normal map" per .package file - the normal map adds extra 3D texture in game; so, even though the details aren't coloured, you can still see outlines, like it has been made a part of the porcelain. Very beautiful!!!
Originally I had just done the top four colours, then realised I also HAD to do a blue porcelain as well.
The basin slots onto any surface, so you can place it on a counter; a table; a dresser etc. HOWEVER, annoyingly, the animation location can't be changed - so in some instances the sim's hand will go through the bowl itself (If anyone knows if I can actually change this, please reach out!!!).
Just like my Functional Victorian Washstand, to make all this work, you need:
The file included in this post XML Injector Sponge Bath Mod
And, of course, if you want to shave your face, you can now use my Automatic Beards mod - fully base game compatible.
