Okay is there anyone else who's interested in httyd fandom history out here? Because I am desperate to know where the beginning of the consensus that the Red Death used mind control came from. Does anyone know?

I am this close to waybacking ff dot net and ctrl-F'ing every fic that came before Hitchups. Do we know?? Was Hitchups the thing that came up with this and codified it as the most popular reading??

It’s me. I’m the—(sorryNotSorry life happened)—the problem for whomever still follows.

I’m sorry I just had to pop back in after a Titanic amount of years and give a well deserved shoutout to @santathegrey who’s, to my surprise, been recording and posting Hitchups on his Spotify channel (I gave full permission beyond my old lady memory, which led to PEARL CLUTCHING DELIGHT)

I figured he’s been advertising it every time he makes an episode but he does SUCH an amazing job and I’ve caught up tonight and HOLY SHIT was I kicked in the hoohah.

Anyway, I am humbled and awed by his talent and dedication, and whomever is left following this blog I beg you to check out his material… that said he has a bunch of fics if Hitchups isn’t to your taste.

That said… Hello. Goodbye. I just had to throw out a well-earned shoutout because he deserves it.

For his talent. Not for teary-eyed nostalgia keeping me awake.

To anyone who's never heard of this story, I highly encourage you to check it out, either in writing or my audio version of it. It's one of my all-time favorite fanfics, and the 29 hours of audio might get you through the holiday travel season😅 It's a really fun adventure story about Hiccup and Toothless and their brotherhood, full of exotic places (for a viking), mystic elements, and a snarky viking boy who's in over his head.

So, I finished reading @avannak HTTYD fanfic, Hitchups…

That damn story had me up at 2 in the morning reading it. I completely (well, maybe not completely) abandoned the Tangled fandom JUST to go read this 40 chapter-long fic. I ignored almost everything that was going on in my life to read this story. This one scene in the story kept me up last night because just the idea of it made my angsty heart soar. And now that I’m done reading it, my mind’s all hnnnnnnn sequel.

It was totally worth reading. I honestly like this au more than the canon.

Now I’m gonna go and draw some angsty art for it.
