“Le Metro de la Reine”, the Queen’s Subway, is an adaptation of Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun’s portrait of Queen Marie-Antoinette in the Hameau de la Reine in Versailles, 1783. Hudson Yards subway station is the portrait’s new setting, with Xenobia Bailey’s glass mosaic as its sky.
