happy new year 🎊🥳
I wish to all my fellow tumblr users a Happy New Year. Time to spend another year in this never ending circle we're all trapped in called tumblr.
Self improvement needs self awareness. HNY (hopefully)!
🎉🍾🥂✨
Happy New Year! Hope this year is better for everyone!
Happy New Year!
It’s been a little too long since I last drew Mel, and I wanted something cozy to close out the year. I’m not sure if I’ll keep adding girls to the pile, or if I’ll just do previous year and upcoming like this, but I’d like to keep this going in the years to come uwu
I made Millie for 2020, since my birthyear is also the Rat, and I think I need some Big Strong Ox lady energy going into the new year lol
So, we have Millie the mouse, and Ovelia (Ollie for short) the Ox!
Kicked off 2021 by going to bed at 10pm and getting ten hours of sleep which is definitely better than whatever I was doing last year
For anyone writing New Year’s resolutions, make sure you come up with resolutions that are motivating to you. In terms of the content of course, but also in terms of how you frame the resolution. For example:
Do you find it more motivating to have vague resolutions that give you flexibility in accomplishing them — eg be more social this year — or resolutions with specific actions/expectations tied to them — eg attend at least 3 virtual or otherwise COVID-safe social events/gatherings every month?
Do you find it more motivating to have a specific end goal you’re working to achieve — eg get in good enough shape to be able to complete a marathon — or to have a specific routine to stick to — eg run for at least 4 hours each week?
Do you find it more motivating to have your goal in small regular chunks — eg try two new recipes each week — or in larger chunks to do on a flexible schedule — eg try 100 new recipes this year?
Do you find it more motivating to have an easy goal you know you can achieve and maybe even see how much you can beat it by — eg write 50k words this year — or to have a really difficult goal you probably won’t achieve but you want to see how close you can get — eg write 750k words this year?
And of course the most important thing is remember you made your resolutions up yourself. There’s nothing riding on them beyond your own personal satisfaction. If a resolution doesn’t work for you as is, reframe it. If it’s too hard, make it easier. If it’s not fun or getting you the results you want, scrap it. Be kind to yourself and have a Happy New Year!
