warhammer40k is like the weed of mini wargames. everyone knows where to get it, the people that are way too into it are adamant that its not addictive, and for some after trying it they go hey this is pretty cool I wonder if other mini wargames have any kick

then before they know it they have a pile of shame backlog 6 game systems deep and over a thousand models

Huguenot infantry, War of Spanish Succession Ebor Miniatures August 2025

Here we flit back to the early 18th century and the War of Spanish Succession, with these Huguenot infantry from that period. I realise I've had to take quite a bit of creative license with these uniforms, as historical sources for them are rather few and far between, given that the Huguenots would often be incorporated into - and therefore wear the same uniforms as - their Protestant allies. I must admit I'm rather pleased with the way they've turned out; I have a tendency, when working on made-up colour schemes, to make them too colourful and therefore anachronistic for their chosen time period, but I think I'm getting there with these. Figures are once again from the masters at Ebor Miniatures in York (who else?).

Sloppity Bilepiper and his Little Lord are done!

As usual, I had a lot of fun with bright colours and gradients. The mushrooms have Shifter Paints-caps and UV-glow dots, There's coloured resin and a lot of swamp gel for added Nurgleness.

The Litle Lord is taking to the stage, singing (or screeching? Squeaking? Belching) to the tune of the Bilepipers bagpipe.

Need Character basing ideas!

Hello beloved wargames community so I'm want to make a raised base for my Dark Elf sorceress for The Old World to help her stand out from the ranks of the normal troops. I'm thinking a Lion King style tactical rock with some skulls and blood rivers ect but I'm also open to suggestions. But mainly I'm after what you guys actually use as a basing material thats not cork or foam for the rock just because I'm after something a little more robust.
