The Wizarding World - The Coming of the Metamorphmagus - Chapter 6 (The Coronal Of Purple And Blue)
THE WIZARDING WORLD of Harry Potter - THE COMING OF THE METAMORPHMAGUS
David, Lily, Rowan and Hugo were delighted in their abilities to gain their houses points; mainly David who was trying to prove his worth while surviving at a school that should not exist in the real-world. In time, the rest of the students arrive including Kalama and her friend. There was three Ravenclaw’s, three Gryffindor’s, three Hufflepuff’s and three Slytherin’s...a perfect balance for a flying class. Just the way Madam Hooch liked it. Symmetry. David stood nervously in-between Rowan and another Ravenclaw named Jenifer Messenger. She was very friendly and strong spirited; however, her story was very tragic as she isn’t the first of her siblings to attend Hogwarts. Her sister, Amanda Messenger, was killed by the deranged lunatic, Bellatrix Lestrange in the Great Hall during the Battle of Hogwarts. She has many similarities to her sister, light brown hair, blue eyes and very shy. Pele Kalama keeps an eye David as she decides to stay far away from him, still feeling the chill of his ice charm. Her friend, Miss Fafnir with her jet black hair and blue eyes nearly hangs off Pele’s pocket with the other Slytherin, Mr. Lou Carcolh who is apparently wearing too much eye liner and makeup for his own good. They make up a motley crew as the three Hufflepuff students, Michelle and Mitch, who are twins and Victoria huddle close together as the last boy arrives just in time, Mr. Mark Dorff of Gryffindor decides to join his fellow comrades, Hugo and Lily as they all turn their heads to look at the well-weathered face of their instructor. “Good afternoon students, my name is Madam Hooch and I will be your flight instructor for your first year.” she begins as she is strict and direct, hardly breaking character. “We don’t want any serious injuries in this class, so I will have no horse playing or disregard for the rules!” as everyone listens out of fear. “Let’s get at it! Everyone to your brooms!” she commands as the Slytherin’s and Hufflepuff’s take one side and Gryffindor’s and Ravenclaw’s take the other side. “Place you hand over the broom and say ‘up!’” All at once every child holds their hands over the brooms as they say up. David stares at his broom as he holds his hand over the old fashion ‘witch’ broom. He verbally calls up, but his broom won’t even budge! Rowan is even struggling as they look at everyone else to see what they are doing wrong. Lily says up for the fourth time and the broom rises in the air and stays there. Lou Carcolh gets discouraged with his broom, he commands “Wingardium leviosa” just as the broom smacks him right across the face with the handle, knocking him back. “Mr. Carcolh, it is not wise to otherwise charm an already charmed broom!” Madam Hooch says as the children continue trying to summon their brooms. Lily and Hugo already have their brooms in hand as Rowan and David are the only two who can’t even get the darn thing off the grass! “Up!” David says as he sighs and looks at Madam Hooch. “Professor Hooch…” “Madam please!” Madam Hooch barks as she looks at David. “I am no academic teacher!” “My apologizes,” David corrects, “Madam Hooch, I think my broom is broken!” as he holds his hand over the broom and she comes over and places her hand over the broom. “Up!” she commands and the broom rises off the ground to her hand. “Mr. Adriatian, you need confidence to summon the broom. Just saying up will get you no where!” “It isn’t confidence Madam, it is the fact that Humans aren’t designed to fly!” he says as Madam Hooch takes his hand and looks at him with her hawk-like eyes. “Say up with confidence mister Adriatian!” she commands as she leaves David to his trials as she checks on everyone’s progress. David looks to Rowan and she too has her broom in her hand as Hugo looks at David’s failure. “Try closing your eyes; my cousin Albus had a difficult time summoning his broom too and found closing his eyes helped him concentrate.” Hugo offers as David nods, and returns back to the matter at hand. He closes his eyes and he thinks about the broom on the ground as his thoughts run wild. ‘I don’t want to ride it! Just summon it to my hand…like the summoning charm in Professor’s Flitwick’s class.’ David says to himself as he verbally says “Up!” with much strength and determination as something hits his fingertips and he opens his eyes to find his broom floating just below his hand. “Well done David!” Hugo says as Rowan smiles and even Jenifer congratulates him. Madam Hooch sees that all the children have their brooms in the air and returns to her teaching spot…at the head of the class. “You will now mount your brooms and hover…I repeat! Only hover!” she says as everyone gets to it as David is glad to summon his broom, but not thrilled about mounting it. He takes his hand away and the broom drops to the ground as he holds it over again and gives the command to go up and this time the broom rises without him needing to close his eyes. David takes the broom with both hands and holds it between his legs as he has seen witches do in movies back home. Hugo and Lily are already hovering two feet off the ground as they laugh and are thrilled. This isn’t their first time to ride a broom as being siblings, they have learned how to fly before coming to Hogwarts. Madam Hooch comes back to David as she notices his feet are still on the ground. “Mr. Adriatian, take your feet off the ground!” she instructs as David looks at her. His feet are the only thing keeping him up. “I can’t Madam Hooch, the broom isn’t hovering.” David says as she sighs. “The broom will not lift you if you don’t take your feet off the ground!” she says as David sighs and shakes his head as he knows he will fall flat on his face if he tries to sit on the darn thing! David kicks off the ground as he braces for a fall and finds himself death gripping the shaft of the broom stick as he hovers there, bouncing up and down as if he was on water. “There you go, next time, just slip your feet off the ground…pushing off can cause immediate acceleration!” Madam Hooch takes to her favorite spot on the field and takes the pendant from around her neck and blows on it and a shrill sound is emitted from it. “Everyone down!” as she decides to take the class one more step further. “Now we will do a general test flight. Take your brooms, mount them and when you want to go up, push off the ground and point the handle up. Level off by centering the handle and when you come downs, gently push down on the handle…” Everyone mounts their brooms and push off the ground. Everyone, except David are about 10 feet off the ground as he pushes off and hovers about 2 feet above the Earth. He is very unsteady on his broom as he pulls up gently on the handle amd rises higher into the air and then pushes down and lowers. David looks around as the Slytherin’s are the highest with the Gryffindor’s challenging their air superiority. Rowan looks down at David, “Pull up…get away from the ground!” as David gulps and gives into peer pressure and pulls up and rises into the air. He is about 6 feet off the ground…he can see the top of Madam Hooch’s silver, crazy hair! He has already passed his limit, but he wants to join his friends as he rises up to 10 feet to join Rowan and Jenifer. “This is crazy!" David laughs nervously "If my mom and dad could see me now…they’d freak!” “You are doing well,” Lily says as she looks down on the three Ravenclaw’s. Jenifer is like David, she struggles to stay steady on her broom as watching Slytherin rise about 25 feet into the air makes them all feel so small! They feel vulnerable. David takes one hand off his broom handle as he tries to get comfortable and then takes off the other as he sits there with his legs on the stirrups. The broom is steady as a rock as Rowan tries to do the same, Jenifer however not risking it! David watches Pele, Lou and Serta fly around as they push nearly 33 feet off the ground, challenging one another. “Miss Kalama, Miss Fafnir and Mr. Lou, descend down at once…you are too high!” Madam Hooch yells as she has her hands on her hips. David feels himself back off as he gets a better look at the Slytherin folk horsing around and then Kalama is bumped by Lou as she is knocked off her broom and holds onto the handle, screaming. “Help!” Kalama screams as she holds on for dear life. “Hold on!” Madam Hooch yells as she rushes for her own broom as David watches the horror unfold. He was terrified this would happen to him, but is happening to Kalama, his worst enemy, besides his Prefect! Kalama’s sweaty fingers are starting to lose grip as she struggles as Madam Hooch pushes off the ground, but it is too late! Kalama lets go of her broom and plummets to the ground, 33 feet below as David quickly grabs his wand and points at Kalama as he yells out. “Omekšati!” as Kalama seems to fall into a pocket of air and then lightly touches the ground. Madam Hooch touches down as she rushes to Kalama to see that the girl has not a scratch on her body. “Are you okay?” Madam Hooch asks as Kalama nods and looks up at David who still has his wand brandished as he quickly puts his wand away as he is confused about what happened, but glad to see Kalama doing okay as Madam Hooch looks up to the students. “Everyone down!” she commands as everyone quickly descends, knowing that if they fall, David might save them too! David pushes down on the broom as Serta rushes to her friend’s side. “Are you okay Pele!” Serta asks as Pele nods her head. The last thing she remember is hearing something and hitting something that felt like a balloon. With David’s feet safely on the ground, Madam Hooch walks over to him. She is slowly piecing things together to realize it was David who saved Kalama with a spell that he should have not been able to cast at all. “Mr. Adriatian!” she says as she is impressed. “Thank you for stopping Miss Kalama’s fall…” as she sees Professor Flitwick heading to Frog Choir “Professor Flitwick, a moment of your time!” she says as he b-lines and comes over. “Madam Hooch, how is flying lessons going?” he asks as he sees that his star pupil is detained by her. “Just a typical fall, but Mr. Adriatian stopped it with a spell I’ve never heard of before…” she looks at David, “How did you say it? O-mek-sati?” she says as Professor Flitwick, who has studied charms all his life never heard of that one! “Are you sure that is how it was said?” Professor Flitwick asks as Serta walks over. “That is what I heard, Omeksati!” she said as Filius shakes his head. “Can you cast it Mr. Adriatian?” he asks as David shakes his head. “I am sorry professor, but I don’t recall ever casting any spell!” David says as Kalama comes over next as she is overly grateful. “Don’t belittle yourself Adriatian, everyone heard you cast it!” Kalama says as she smiles, “I personally am grateful! You did not have to do that!” she says as David get flustered. “I am sorry everyone, but if I cast a spell, I don’t…” David begins as Madam Hooch and Professor Flitwick stare at him “You’re not in trouble…just seemed you cast a cushioning spell…” Madam Hooch interrupts as David shakes his head in frustration. “Nisam bio ja!” David cries out as he stares at Madam Hooch and Professor Flitwick as they back away as his eyes turn a shade of purple and fade back to blue. The two teachers look at one another as even Kalama wonders what just happened…she remembers him speaking a weird language last time and backs away quickly. “Ah hell, it is just like last time!” Kalama says as Professor Flitwick looks at her. “What do you mean?” Professor Flitwick asks as he stares at Kalama. Kalama looks at David, she is terrified and concern all at the same time. “David and I had a duel this morning…it was ill advised!” she quickly adds, “I used a jinx I learned from my brother against a Gryffindor and then on two Ravenclaw’s…one was him. He came back, said something...odd...just like now and summoned a jet of water that turned to ice!” she says as Professor Flitwick turns about stares at David as this isn’t good news. He is greatly upset, but not surprised as Headmistress McGonagall sent him an owl about David’s misconduct. “He melted the ice and got me out Professor!” she adds as Professor Flitwick and Madam Hooch are not only concern about his odd language, but also the fact that they all just witnessed this boys eyes change color. “Professor McGonagall needs to be made aware of this!” Madam Hooch says as Professor Flitwick nods and looks at David. “Follow me young man.” he says as he takes David through the sea of eyes as they look at him, nervously and curious. Rowan and Lily wave’s goodbye to David as he waves goodbye back to them as Lily and Rowan look at Madam Hooch. “Did you see his eyes?” Rowan asks as Madam Hooch sharply turns as she did not think anyone else saw that. “What do you mean?” Madam Hooch asks as Rowan looks at Lily. “After David cast that spell in the Fountain Courtyard, he nearly passed out and looked confused. We watched his eyes turn from purple to blue!” Rowan says as Lily nods. Kalama listening as she just witnessed that herself. “What causes that?” Madam Hooch shakes her head as she stares off into the sky. “I don’t know.” she nearly says at a whisper. Turning, she looks at the wide eyed students. “Class dismissed…work on your summoning, taking off and landing…at safe heights!” she barks as Lily, Rowan, Hugo and Kalama stay behind to help put away the brooms as Madam Hooch can sense an uneasy tension in the air…feels like lightening! “Thank you everyone…I’ll be sure to add 5 points to each of your houses!” she says as she quickly goes to Minerva’s office to relay what she just heard from the children. Lily stares at Pele as there is still a bitterness between them. Pele looks at Lily as she shrugs her shoulders. “What can I say, sorry!” she states as she turns her attention to Serta. “Go along if you like…” Serta shakes her head as she will stay. Pele turns to the group that has been forming around David. “I don’t know about you losers, but I am going to go see the headmistress and advocate for David not to be punished, or worse, expelled!” “Even after what you saw!” Serta says, shocked…this must be the first time a Slytherin said sorry to a Gryffindor! Even Draco and Harry still have not forgiven one another for the events during the rise of Voldemort! Rowan nods as she wants to be helpful in her own special, Ravenclaw, way. “I think I will head to the library…you heard Madam Hooch…she does not know what causes his eyes to turn color! If I can find what is doing this, it might help David’s case! He might be enchanted...” Rowan says as she is concerned. "Or cursed!" adds Pele as the group agrees as they all decide to go to the library together. Across the castle, through the Fountain Courtyard, they arrive to the western most tower and climb the stairs to the 3rd floor there the library is. Inside the library, they are not certain where to start! Rowan looks at enchantments, while Pele takes the darker side and looks at curses. Jenifer walks over to Rowan and she verbally make a noise as Helena ‘shhs’ her. "Sorry Lady Ravenclaw!" Jenifer says as she looks at Rowan. “I want to help!” Jenifer says as she hopes that she will find friendship in Rowan as only one Second year has even talked to her and the Prefect has ridden her about her excess crying. Rowan smiles and nods. “We are looking for any spell, charm, jinx, curse...anything in-between that would cause someone to speak a foreign language and have their eyes turn purple!” Rowan says as they split up and go through books with little to no luck. Pele and Serta grow bored…except Pele wants to know what is causing this to happen to David…and if it can benefit her too. Lily and Hugo look through the potions and charms as Rowan and Jenifer look through transfiguration, dark arts and creatures. Rowan pulls out a book on transfiguration and reads about the types of transformations: ‘A Metamorphmagus is a witch or wizard who has the ability to change their appearance at will, without the need for a wand, spell, or potion. Metamorphmagy is a very rare ability, and one that the witch or wizard must be born with. There is no way to train to become a Metamorphmagus. Unlike Animagi, Metamorphmagi can take a wide variety of forms, changing sex and age, potentially looking like anyone at all, or even just changing a part of their appearance, such as the color of their hair or color of their eyes.’ Rowan closes the book, shocked and curious. “Guys…take a look at this!” she says as Hugo, Lily, Pele, Jenifer and Serta gather around to hear her. “A metamorphmagi can take a wide variety of forms, changing their sex, age…first signs are changing hair color and eye color during moments of great stress!” she says as no one has ever heard of a metamorphmagi. “What did you all find?” “There is a potion that changes your color,” Lily says as she adds, “but nothing about weird languages or abilities.” “Does metamorph-people have weird language or abilities?” Pele asks as Rowan reads through the text, but does not see anything about weird languages or abilities. “It doesn’t!” Rowan says, annoyed as the metamorphmagi only explains the color change as so does the charm. She drops the book is disgust. Looking at Hugo and Pele for answers, they have come up short. “It is just like Madam Hooch said, nothing they’ve ever seen!” Pele says as she is upset that she did not find the answer herself…she hates failure! “We go to plan 2,” Rowan says as she looks at Pele, “Your plan!” she says as Pele is shocked that she is being given the chance to put her ideas into action.
In the massive tower, David stands by Professor Flitwick’s side as they ride the stairs climbing high into the tower. To the top, they get off the rotating stairs and Filius knocks on the door as Minerva lets them in. “Professor Flitwick…” Minerva says as she looks at David and sighs, “Mr. Adriatian. What may I do for you?” she asks as David stands at attention as Flitwick debriefs. “Professor McGonagall, we had an incident on the field…at Madam Hooch’s flying class.” Flitwick begins as David stares at the floor…he really hates being up here. “Normally I would not seek your council regarding charms, but Mr. Adriatian cast a year seven charm and saved Miss Kalama from a terrible bruising…but that is not why we are here.” he looks at David and sees that being here might be the last straw for him. He knows that David is struggling with fitting in and this could make it much better or much worse! Minerva looks at the situation, she fears the worse is yet to come. “When we tried to see how he cast the spell, he said he could not remember even casting it…then said something in a language I’ve never heard…” “Language?” Minerva asks, listening. “Yes…not parseltongue I assure you, but something…different! His eyes, they turned different colors too!” as David looks up as this is new to him. “What?” David interrupts, knowing that is probably the worst thing he could do at this point. “Mr. Adriatian,” begins Minerva as she seems not shocked by this revelation. “Have you ever noticed your eyes changing color before…or speaking a different language without recalling?” David walks over to the tower as he looks towards Black Lake and the far shore where the train brought him. “Certainly a lovely view you have up here madam headmistress…” David says as he sighs and turns to the teachers as his thoughts are in-order. “I was taken to see a therapist because of what they say is suppressed memories…Ted Lupin said that I was from Croatia.” David walks back over as he defends himself. “I don’t know when these events occur, why I can do what I do…only clue I have comes from this wand and being told that having it would change my life.” David says as he lays the wand on the table as Flitwick finally has a closer look and looks up at the professor. “This wand!” he says as she nods. “The missing wand of Nymphadora Tonks.” Minerva says as Filius is baffled. “Somehow, a part of Mrs. Tonk’s soul was attached to this wand when she was killed and it appeared to her son who gave it to Mr. Adriatian. Mr. Adriatian told me earlier today that he met Mrs. Tonks in a dream.” as David nods, all of it correct. “She said that having this wand was a gift for breaking her and her husband free from the…” David thinks of what she called it “…killing curse." both Filius and Minerva feel a cold chill at the identity of the forbidden spells. "She said that I was too inherent her talents…” “Could it be?” Filius says as Minerva nods as she closes her eyes. “Impressive!” he gasps with delight. “And he knows?” Minerva shakes her head, “Knows what?” David asks, feeling left out. “It does not explain the foreign language…but does explain the knowledge, except it is tied to that talent which we do not understand.” Minerva explains. “What?” David asks, “People are scared of me Professor! Of something I can’t see or remember!” he says as the door opens and in walks Madam Hooch. “Sorry to interrupt professors, but this appears to have happen earlier today to!” Madam Hooch says as she looks at the trio. “Madam Hooch, please close the door.” Minerva says as she decides it is time to talk. “Hogwarts can be a stressful place for any wizard or witch…but a wizard who has lived in the world of Muggles; especially stressful!” as she looks at David as he stares at the floor…ashamed. “When Mr. Adriatian first showed me the wand he carried and then hearing the stories of his eye color changing, you all should know something; including you David." Minerva looks at the closed Ministry files as she sighs. "Mr. Adriatian’s wand once belonged to Nymphadora Tonks and it seems that the talent she passed onto David was the gift of metamorphmagi…” Madam Hooch is surprised as metamorphmagi are as rare as a super full blue blood moon happening during an eclipse! “Metamorphmagi!” Madam Hooch says as Flitwick is equally shocked to learn the truth, as is David. “Metamorphmagi?” David questions as Minerva nods her head. "Your saying that I am..." “Correct Mr. Adriatian, you are a metamorphmagi, or as you might remember, a metamorphmagus!” as David recalls the two types of human transfiguration: Anigmus and Metamorphmagus. “What does this mean?” David asks as he looks at Minerva for help. Being a metamorphmagus ought to be equal to being an alien. Is he even human! Were his parents also metamorphmagi? “It means that in time, the transformations will occur more rapidly and easier…you’ll have full control…but will need to learn to control them during moments of stress.” she says as David feels those butterflies in the pit of his stomach. “And my expulsion for breaking school rules?” David inquires. “Although we restrict 1st year students from producing such advance charms; you used the charm to save Miss Kalama from severe harm…even if you don't remember casting it.” Minerva states as she looks at the professors who feel bad that David thought that this was discipline. “Actually Professor McGonagall,” begins Madam Hooch. “With the permission of Professor Flitwick and with proper training of course; I’d like him to be a field medic during the Quidditich matches…his talents can prove to be useful! And supervised.” she says as she smiles. Minerva looks at David as he is a mix-bag of emotions. “Well Mr. Adriatian,” she begins without much room for him to decline “it looks like you found your purpose here at Hogwarts after all!” she says as she smiles and Flitwick nods. “I’ll start arranging a private lesson for Mr. Adriatian to offer him a challenge during Charms…and work on your cushioning spell and other spells to aid you during Quidditich matches.” Flitwick says as David is overwhelmed. “Hvala vam!” he says as he turns on his feet and stares out the window back to Hogsmeade. He pauses and glances at everything looking quite amazed, confused and alarmed. “I did it again?” as they nod. “Sorry, I meant to say thank you.” he corrects as Minerva stands up. “I’ll send out messages to your teachers about your ‘talents’ so they will be prepared and Professor Flitwick, please inform the Ravenclaw Prefect about Mr. Adriatian’s talents too.” she says as she looks at David solely. “And as for you Mr. Adriatian, I know you’ve been trying to fit it here at Hogwarts…but maybe it would be best if you just accept who you are…you always impress when you do so…” as the doors open and in rushes Rowan, Jenifer, Pele, Serta, Lily and Hugo as they all talk at once. "Professor McGonagall!" “That is enough!” as Minerva amplifies her voice. Chaos is replaced with calm as everyone listens. “Now, what can I do for all of you?” she asks, even though she already knows why they are here. Rowan steps forward, “Professor McGonagall! Please reconsider expelling David…we believe his talents are result from something called metamorphmagi!” Rowan says as everyone nods their heads. David looks at the combine of three houses, minus Hufflepuff, and is touched…they all went great lengths to save his enrollment…even risk their own status as students! Minerva looks at them all and smiles. Amazed they were able to come to the truth on their own. “Mr. Adriatian has done nothing wrong and is not going anywhere…he is being promoted to Quidditich medic…” she explains as there is a sigh of relief. “As for your theory about him being a rare metamorphmagi…those are also true!” she says as everyone who did not know look shocked and amazed. They were certainly shocked that they actually got it right! “Really!” Lily says as she heard her dad talk about Mrs. Tonk’s and her ability to transform herself into her father once. Minerva nods her head as she looks down at David. “Mr. Adriatian…you are dismissed to go with your friends…and before you all depart!” she states as everyone listens. “For your efforts to protect your friend, advocate and learn…I will be awarding every one of you 50 points for your efforts!” she says as she smiles and David rushes off to join his newfound friends before he learns anything else. With the door closing as the students riding the stairs back to the ground floor, Minerva sighs as she takes a seat. Flitwick and Hooch stand there, not sure what all happened as Minerva closes her eyes and shakes her head. “Well,” Madam Hooch says as she feels accomplished and confused “it’s not every day do you witness a metamorphmagus in action!” Minerva opens her eyes as she fears that this is just the beginning to a difficult chapter. She looks at the teachers as she opens up. “It is true, he is a metamorphmagus," as she looks at the closed files. "But it wasn’t metamorphmagus abilities that you witnessed Madam Hooch.” as the two teachers look confused and shocked once again. “It was important he ‘thinks’ it is Mrs. Tonk’s abilities! He needs friends for the hardship that is already blooming!” “What are you talking about?” Professor Flitwick asks as Madam Hooch would like answers too. “Only Hagrid knows the truth about what we really think Mr. Adriatian is…” she begins as she takes out David’s folder from the Ministry of Magic. “Hagrid saw a glimpse of it in the boat and you two plus Miss Kalama, Potter and Bagnold have seen the other trait…” “The purple eyes?” Madam Hooch asks as Minerva nods her head as she bites her lips. “The Ministry of Magic has made this top secret…in no certain terms can you tell David any of this or risk having Aurors knocking on our door!” she warns as Filius and Hooch look at one another if they really want to know. “What are we dealing with Minerva?” Madam Hooch asks as Minerva opens his file as pushes it towards them to read as she pushes her finger to her lips. Madam Hooch’s and Filius Flitwick’s eyes open wide as they read the letter written back in Croatia. “Madam Hooch…that ‘information’ is top secret and can never be released…I am sorry!” as she closes the folder and the two teachers got the news and now see David in a whole new light and will never look at him the same! There is always risk that the crows from the Ministry can be listening and Minerva is very secret about her concerns. The owls fly out to David’s teachers as Minerva dismisses the teachers as she decides to go to the library to do some research on her own...she will have to access the restricted section for this...
David walked among his friends as they all shared their thought about what David is. David is held in contempt and embarrassment as he wants attention; but not this type of attention. David sighs as he explains. “They say I slip into my metamorph when I am stressed…but why is it only my eyes?” “Because that is the first thing to change, followed by hair and then the face and in time, your whole body!” Lily says as she remember reading about the metamorphmagus in Transfiguration class today. “Dad once talked about a metamorphmagus named Nymphadora Tonks who was like you, a shapeshifter!” David looks at his cloak’s pocket and pulls out his wand and passes it to Lily as she takes it and the others look at it. “This is your wand…” Lily says as David nods. “Where did you all get your wands?” David asks as they all vocalize ‘Ollivanders’. David shakes his head as he explains, “I got my wand from a young man named Ted Lupin.” “Ted Lupin!” Lily says, surprised as she hoped that Ted would decide to live with her family. Rowan and Pele look like they should know that name. “He is the only child of Professor Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks, both who fought in the Order of the Phoenix against You Know Who.” “Who?” David asks as the others remember he was raised my Muggles. “His name is still forbidden as the Ministry of Magic...they wish to erase his name from history, but we all know him as the Dark Lord Voldemort. He was the leader of the Death Eaters that nearly destroyed Hogwarts..and killed the owner of this wand.” as Lily looks at the wand. “Why would Ted give you his wand?” “It isn’t his wand,” as David takes the wand back and pockets it as he comes clean, “it belonged to his mom and appeared at my house...he said that the wand did not respond to him and that he felt that his mom wanted it to go to me.” Lily, Hugo, Pele, Serta and Rowan find it odd that a metamorphmagus would give a metamorphmagus’s wand. Rowan ponders about the revelation. “Could it be that using Mrs. Tonk’s wand has cursed you?” Rowan asks as Pele interrupts her. “Don’t be silly, a wand only chooses one wizard!” she states as Serta shakes her head. “Not exactly, the Elder Wand could be won if the other wizard was killed or defeated…it is possible for a wand to be passed on if the new host has many characteristics of the previous host.” Serta says as everyone is shocked to hear Serta offer such information. “What! I love wand history!” she defends as David smiles and nods in thanks. There is a moment where they stop and smile and go their separate ways. Gryfindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin as friends? It was as weird as the legends stored inside these stone walls. David and Rowan walk upstairs to the sixth floor where their House lives. Passing the riddle and going to their rooms, David closes his door as he has much to consider as he writes: Day 2 - I feel that I am further away from the truth then when I first came. I seem to have a hidden talent for charms and transfiguration, but still deathly afraid of flying! Today my eyes seemed to become coronal of purple and blue...I did not see it...I feel as if they are not telling me something.
