DEFINITION (sent by anon): someone who specifically experiences queer unfemininity. it is an identity that exist within the realm of butch and femme (along with futch) in terms of the ever unique and varied experiences of nonconformity that comes along with butch/femme/futch. but depending on the individual, it can be completely separate realm from them as well. hoiden derives from the more popular spelling hoyden from hoydenish which is a synonym for unfeminine. i choose hoiden over hoyden because (according to definitions/net) it’s less popular spelling has a more gender neutral definition than the more commonly spelled, which as someone who is NOT binary, i like a lot so hoiden it was! nonfem well.. means nonfeminine (unfeminine).
