Watching the new clip of Eddie in therapy the first thing that popped up to me was this parallel,

Abby had to leave (LA and Buck) to find herself.

But when Eddie came to LA (left El-Paso) he was lost, he was so focused on building a life there that he never really came to terms with the person he had to be before.

He found his home, he knows where he belongs.

Abby had to go to find herself and to find her home.

Eddie found his home, and now has to find a way to reconcile who he was, who he has become and how to make peace with the two in a way that allows him to really move on in a healthy way in the home he made with Christopher in LA and get back to the family he chose for himself with the 118 and Buck.
