My fashion portfolio has been coming along very nicely, at the moment I am working on a Holly Fulton inspired dress with a 1960’s twist to it. The colour is a vibrant yellow and a bottle green collar, it will be shown as a piece of my final collection as part of my final assignment in June.
I used the basic dress block as a starting point and have added a princess line to the front to give a more rounded and fitted look on my final model.
I am extremely lucky to have a whole floor of my 3 story house dedicated to sewing, design and fashion. My little furry friend CharlieDog keeps a watchful eye over my sewing, whilst enjoying the warmth from the sun coming in through the windows.
Green fabric will make the collar - Peter Pan style which will be removable so the dress can be worn with or without depending on the occasion or look required. I am excited to finish the dress for different reasons, one so its another tick off the assignment list and secondly because having had no experience in making clothing prior to this course I am proud of my achievement.
As always, I am making a promise to myself at this point to try and blog again next week. Im going to go and set myself a calendar reminder right now so I can remind myself to blog next week.
Stay cool!
