The Shigami Union

..He was nearing home now. Kanna had been aware of his guests for some time. He had potentially made a mistake in what he had been doing. Assuming that he would somehow emerge relatively unscathed from his encounter with Doggo and Drew.

The fact that he knew what was coming next almost gave him some form of catharsis. His hand had been in his pockets reaching for his keys. But they carefully come out to rest gently open at his side with his other free hand. His breathing was harried, somewhat. But that was normal. It didn’t matter how composed you were when your time eventually came. He was no different.

Everyone was afraid to die, after all. The only question now as he turned around, to scan the four or so vaguely familiar faces behind him that emerged from the darkness... Was whether or not his time was tonight.

There would be no weapons in this fight. There was no real need, given his unique weakness. And no defense offered in kind to stop it. Several various bolts of magic lance out of the dark and collide with the Kappa, lifting him up and dashing him into his own door frame. A single note of violence in the night.

And just like that, it was over. A card is tossed upon the inert Monster. They then meld back into the gloom. Upon the card is simply an inscription of the Delta Rune... With kanji red as blood overwritten largely across its face:
