snapthistiger: yes ma’am. less cumbersome than the previous plastic cast and sling. i am required to sleep with it on. same as the plastic cast.
i can take the mechanical brace off to shower. praise the Lord!! i was smelling like an old goat..

Ouch! Was this a long time coming thing? Or a tough mudder injury?
snapthistiger: the injury did occur at the tough mudder. i think several factors contributed.
i felt a twinge in my forearm on the funky monkey obstacle and i should have bypassed the kong obstacle, where my injury occurred. there is no penalty for bypassing an obstacle. it was purely my decision.
also, in preparation for the tough mudder, the following-
improper training - i did not strengthen my arms like i should have
poor nutrition - i did not eat like i should have when preparing
age - i’m less inclined to attribute cause to this factor, although this injury does generally occur more frequently with older people
