thank you so much for your reading! the advice isn't necessarily what i wanted to hear, but it makes sense -- i have a tendency to pretend i'm doing better than i am, mental health and coping-wise, and not actually work to fix the things that are bothering me. my #1 coping mechanism is probably escapism, which isn't the best for obvious reasons. so your reading felt accurate and was also helpful for figuring out my priorities for this month. thank you again, and happy new year!

I keep getting this card and I’m wondering if that’s more of a sign to me than to you lol.

But let’s assume this card is for you.

Going forward right now isn’t really the best option. I know it’s the new year and put stuff behind us and etc etc...but this card suggests you have to first fix what was wrong in the past year before you can move forward. It isn’t wise for you to “fake it til you make it” right now. Instead, it may be better to admit that you don’t know what is going on and be open to advice.

I’m not entirely on board with this card, to be frank, so I think I’m going to draw from a more experienced deck I have:

Coming to Life, upright

Interesting...Both these cards have people in similar positions, but this card comes to us upright while the previous card came to us reversed.

But Coming to Life is about waiting too, much like Poised reversed, so here’s what I think the cards are trying to tell me: wait and build yourself up. Once you take time to be what you want--not just pretend--you will be elevated. Together these cards suggest there is something you need to shed first before you can emerge new. Maybe this is shedding the last year, or shedding away bad experiences, or maybe even shedding away part of your identity that no longer fits. But once you do, you will start to emerge from your shell anew.
