introduction to my blog!

Hi! I am Sarah and I am new to the studyblr community! I am 16 and will be a junior in high school in the 2017/2018 school year. I am an aspiring artist who hopes to go to an art college someday. I will probably change my URL to something more to do with studying soon I just couldn’t really think of anything in the moment haha.

Why I made this blog

I have stalked the studyblr community for a while and have always meant to make one. I struggled a lot in 9th grade due to mental health issues and being abandoned by my friends. I tried a new school in 10th grade but it ended up being even worse so I am going back to my old school this year. I made this blog to try to help me to get through my junior year without completely failing haha. 

I also have a problem with organization and have always meant to make a bullet journal to help with my organization but never got around to it. I think this blog will help me keep it going too haha.

The studyblr community also seems amazing and I would love to make some friends! Feel free to message me at anytime!

What classes I am taking next year

my schedule is not finalized due to me switching school again but this is the rough layout right now / what I have talked about taking with my guidance counselor. I will post an updated schedule once I have it figured out.

My Interests

I love to paint and take weekend painting classes at a local art college near where I live. I also am addicted to Once Upon a Time, Supergirl, Doctor Who, Jessica Jones, How I Met Your Mother, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Friends, Parks and Rec, Melanie Martinez, Halsey, Fifth Harmony, One Direction, Lana Del Rey, Marina and the Diamonds, Dan and Phil, Pixielocks, Merlin, Panic! at the Disco and Twenty One Pilots. love all forms of art especially painting, drawing and makeup.

What I will be posting

I will be posting motivation, stuff about the SAT’s while I am studying, possibly stuff from my bullet journal and notes and maybe even some of my art.

im so freaking stressed out rn and i dont have anything actually decent to wear and all my good pants are still missing and half of my clothes never retyrned from the laundromat and finals are next week and i hate school and i just lost a friend bc she was talking shit about me and my friends and omfg everyone is right about junior year

I hate physics because it doesnt make sense the way my teacher teaches shit and i cant learn from the youtube videos bc they dont help and no one will take my asks for help seriously and I have a D in that class and I need a C to not have summer school and ik running out of time

TLDR; i hate flipped classrooms and my honors physics teacher sucks (if anyone wants to try to explain physics my dm's r open)

my teacher sucks BALLS and is the WORST at teaching. its a flipped classroom so he doesnt rlly have to do anything other than walk around and make sure we're all doing work, but flipped classrooms DONT WORK for subjects that aren't english based.

bc english classes, u can read the book at home, discuss and do worksheets/assignments in class, then read at home again. ur not sitting at home watching mind numbingly boring videos from covid, ur reading.

but with physics, we're expected to self teach the subjects. bc not only does he not explain adequately, his voice is so flat and boring that the videos SUCK to watch !!!!!

also i cant learn from videos. i still cant figure out most of geometry from last year and im now in algebra 2/trig (which has explained a little geometry bc ACT prep) but im still wildly unprepared for any geometry questions on the ACT that doesn't involve triangles. i learned nothing in math last year, and im learning nothing in physics this year.

i can barely grasp any of the topics we've covered bc we're moving too fast (and yet still behind the other honors physics classes who aren't a flipped classroom)

the only thing i kind of understand is energy and work bc at least those make algebraic sense

AND i was so good at chem last year, which is usually considered a much harder subject!!! i love chem! it made sense!!!! it was taught in a way i can ACTUALLY LEARN!!!!!

and its not just me thats struggling, its almost my entire class (minus one rlly smart girl who's awesome, but she cant tutor everyone)

i've grown a disdain towards a subject i wanted to enjoy. i should've just taken AP chem this year instead of honors physics. or environmental science. or AP Bio.

i hate yhat i hate a part of my favorite subject group. im so hopeful that archeology doesn't need physics !! if i have to do more physics it will be against my will and at gunpoint.

not looking forward to the final, bc if i dont do well i will have to retake this class over summer (i have like a D+ rn)

if anyone wants to try and help me understand rotational kinematics, kinematics, and any other junior year honors physics concepts, please DM me im dying here (ive never gotten below a B my entire school career)
