I've made a horrible mistake 😭
While renovating our house, I found a few marbled gecko eggs in the ceiling cavity insulation. They looked old and crunchy, and not much survives in fibreglass insulation. So, I wrapped them in a napkin and put them in a container, with plans to make a little museum-style display later on.
That was a couple of months ago.
Today I opened up that container to find that apparently one of the eggs had been viable when I stored it... And it hatched while wrapped in the napkin. Now I have a mummified baby gecko 😭 I feel so bad for the poor lil guy. It even shed its skin in there before it died. I'm sorry little gecko.
