kitty-just-kitty replied to your photoset:faeriebaked: just some simple hooping
Hi!! I am newish to hooping, and was wondering what the first gif move is called!! If anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it. Thanks! Also, beautiful hooping!
That’s an escalator! There’s loads of great tutorials for this one, here’s one by Rachel Lust, and another by Babz. Happy hooping!
So the reason this blog tapered off for a bit there was because I have been learning how to make my own web apps. Right now I’m working on learning a library called React, and as practice, I made a version of YouTube that only returns search results related to hooping tutorials. Thought you guys might like it - I definitely like being able to space out and just type the name of the move I want to work on! Eventually this will be hosted on the Hoop Spin Lab website proper, but for now it lives on heroku so anyone can use it
Pro tip for hooping/dance/etc tutorial makers:
If your teaching a dance, trick or a combo you should actually DO IT within the first 10-30 seconds of the video.
Seriously this is the most annoying thing, I’ve watched WAY too many tutorials that just go into teaching you a trick and or sit there talking about the trick for what seems like forever but never actually show you what the hell they are actually teaching you. Its mad annoying. :V
Hoop Trick: “Behind-the-Back Tosses” Katie Emmitt shows you how to do an intermediate hoop toss, the Behind-the-Back Toss! Katie suggests attempting the back-bend arm stretch that is required to complete the trick before-hand, as not everyone is used to twisting and bending in that direction.
finishing/making some tutorials tomorrow, so if you have a move in mind, let me know!!
made a tutorial for a move i have no clue what to call. let me know please if there is a real name for it. I've seen this is a lot of videos recently so I decided to try and teach myself it and this is what came of it :P hope this helps all the hoopers out there, let me know if you have questions!!
