Mapping the Weight You Carry
In the Tribe of Hope, we believe that true freedom is found in connection. If your life feels like it is unraveling, it is not a failure of your character; it is a fracture in your support system. We do not ask these questions to judge you. We ask them to understand the chain of burdens you are carrying so our community can step in.
"Nothing is so strong as gentleness," and you are not too much for us.
Part 1: The Immediate Fire (Physiological Needs)
Often, we cannot think about tomorrow because today is too heavy. Let’s look at your immediate foundation.
1. What is the most exhausting physical worry on your mind right now?
[ ] Knowing where my next meals are coming from.
[ ] Having a safe, warm, and secure place to sleep.
[ ] Access to clean clothes or basic hygiene.
[ ] A health or medical concern I am ignoring because I lack access.
2. If our community hub could magically take care of one single thing for you by tomorrow morning, what would give you the most immediate relief?
Part 2: Uncovering the Chain (The Hidden Barriers)
Problems love to hide behind other problems. We want to understand the obstacles blocking your path.
3. Think about a task in your life that currently feels completely overwhelming or "impossible." (e.g., getting a job, cleaning the apartment, paying a specific bill).
What is the task? _____________________________
4. Now, let’s work backward. What is the hidden barrier preventing you from doing that task?
(Example: "I can't look for a job because I have no internet access," or "I can't clean the apartment because the vacuum is broken and the mess makes me too anxious to start.")
5. If that hidden barrier were removed today by someone in our community with those specific skills or resources, what is the next thing you would need help with?
Part 3: Your Sanctuary (Environmental Well-being)
Your living space deeply impacts your mind. We have members whose "Contribution" is simply organizing and fixing.
6. Look around your current living situation. Is there anything broken, deeply unorganized, or dysfunctional that is quietly draining your energy? (e.g., a broken stove, a car that won't start, a pile of mail you are afraid to open).
7. If a small, judgment-free group (a "Core Circle") came over to help you tackle your physical space, what would you want them to focus on first?
Part 4: The Shared Burden (Belonging & Care)
We recognize that grief, anxiety, and isolation are communal issues, not individual failings.
8. What is a burden or a fear you have been carrying completely alone because you didn't want to "be a burden" to anyone else?
9. The Tribe of Hope values "Quiet Radicals" who simply sit and listen. Do you currently need someone to help you fix things, or do you first need someone to just sit with you in the mess without trying to fix it?
[ ] I need action and hands-on help right now.
[ ] I need someone to listen and help me process my anxiety first.
Part 5: Returning to Joy (Esteem & Purpose)
Healing isn't just about surviving; it's about reclaiming your collective happiness.
10. Imagine it is a month (Lumina) from now. The community has helped you fix the chain of problems. Your space is clean, your immediate needs are met. What is one small thing—a hobby, a skill, or a simple joy.
What is it, that you would finally have the mental energy to return to?
