Some kaiju art, drawn on paper, edited in good old PowerPoint.
Though Bionicle is my main fandom, I also like some REAL Lego on occasion. This speed boat for example is important for me because this is the first Lego set I have memories of seeing, back when a kid brought it to kindergarten. I'm certain I have seen other sets before but this is the first one I still remember. My second Lego memory is my Mom telling me that Lego is too expensive and that we can't afford such things.
From that point on, that basically became the defining undercurrent of my whole life. "Can we have nice things that others have?" "No, because we are not others."
Well, I have it now, at least.
Noticed this double headed Leaellynasaura in the original Walking with Dinosaurs. Actually an odd error in which the animal's animation layer was duplicated and the duplicate only partially showed up.
There's loads of this weird, quirky strangeness in the show's CGI, which are fun to spot to figure out how the animation was done. While re-watching this episode, I also spotted that in some scenes, parts of the Muttaburrasaurus' feet are improperly assigned to the animation bones, so every time their left foot moves, the skin on their right foot contorts and stretches toward their left foot.
None of this is meant to criticize the show, since it took me dozens of watches to spot any of these bloopers, and the show was meant to be watched on 90s cathode tube TVs, not analyzed frame by frame in HD.
RIP Hedorah, but not really.
If Godzilla Jr. had imprinted on Philippe Roaché.
Godzilla art for St. Nicholas Day with Krampus-Zilla.
Godzilla Fan Animation Thing, part 4. I wasn't sure what to cut and what to keep. Ultimately it doesn't matter, this scene has been sitting unfinished for 9 years, it's simply good to put it out there in some form at least. There wasn't much to improve on it after it's been abandoned for so long.
Finally have my first Metru Nui Matoran, after 21 years. And of course it's this little prick. I only saw them once or twice in stores back in the day but never got any and I always regretted it. Then just a few months ago I missed out on an unopened Nuhrii, so when I saw someone selling Ahkmou, I didn't want to miss any more chances.
This makes him the fourth G1 Bionicle set I bought since 2014.
